PayPal Refund

Say someone bought something from me here on Etsy and didn't use a coupon code--but I want to refund them what they would have saved if they did use the coupon. How do I do this on PayPal? Do I just click the Issue Refund button and type in the amount? Will I still be able to mark it as shipped and add tracking numbers afterward?

Or do I just need to do Send Payment and refund them that way?

Yep! Just type the amount in on paypal (be sure not to refund the whole transaction) and you're good to go!

You got it - just type in the refund amount - you can still track the shipment. I just had this happen last week . I am somewhat "technologically challenged" and I had no problem. If I could do it . . .. .you can do it too!

Thanks! I was so afraid to do it before because I thought it was equivalent to canceling a sale LOL. Now I know!

Make sure to communicate to the customer what you are refunding, so they don't get concerned when they're getting money back.
