Hi Frey,
I am in the same boat. However, I decided to hold on and not buy an SLR, until later, when some money comes in and I can justify it.
I checked several of your items. Mainly soft toys and I do have a couple of suggestions.
1. Some of the items made with light fabrics do not show as well. I was thinking that maybe if you change the background to a dark color, they would show better.
Example:

You already do this in some of your listings, but I checked other similar items on Etsy, and I thought it would be nice to have photos of the sides, full front and full back, in addition to a close-up of the face.
But, to answer your question, I do not believe you need a new camera at this time and no scratches are apparent to me from looking at your photos. Your photos are very good.
I hope this helps a little.
