New Search Ads Setup-Any Luck??

Just wondering, has anyone had any luck with the new search ads setup? Do you like it, don't like it? I just want to get some sellers' opinions on it.

I tried them (again) for a few days to check them out. I like that you don't pay for impressions, because that's such a waste. However, I cancelled them again when I saw that I'd paid $1.50 for 2 clicks.

Yeah I feel like it's hit or miss, and there's a potential for your Etsy Bill to be racked up really high if people are clicking using keywords that cost a lot.

Re: New Search Ads Setup-Any Luck??

I tried them again for a few days out of curiosity. I tried 5 keywords that were most relevant to my new block line. After a few days and MANY impressions, I only had a couple of clicks. I think my clicks cost 38cents each. No sales from the ads. Of course, I stopped them. There are much better ways to advertise that don't cost near that much money. I do like that we don't pay per impression, but 30+ cents per click is ridiculous, IMO!

Like Elizabeth, I decided to try them again since you only pay for clicks.

In 2 days, I've spent 21 cents for 2 clicks, but one resulted in a sale of $13.
So, I will keep using them for now and see what happens.
This is the first time after trying them multiple times, that I am happy with the results... so far. (still a little skeptical)

I tried them again for two weeks and paid $6 for only 27 clicks and worst of all no sales.
This was the third time I gave them an opportunity and never got good results.

We are using them currently but I think the search terms that are "hot" could be taken .. so we will just have to see.
Being at work all day puts a damper on us renewing listings at Key times, so this is the only option we have right now to help stay relevant.

Re: New Search Ads Setup-Any Luck??

I tried once with the old format and I was disappointed even though it was a Saturday. I couldn't pick my own keywords and I didn't like that.

I am not sure if I want to try again. The new option sounds expensive to me. Lots of people might be clicking for various reason and not buy.

Re: New Search Ads Setup-Any Luck??

Update after 3 days:

$1.57 spent for
5 views resulting in
1 order for
$13.13 revenue

Moral of this story: Search Ads are just ONE way I can advertise. I can't depend solely on them to generate sales. I have also had lots of other sales that had nothing to do with Search Ads. It's still ultimately up to me to promote my own business and generate my own sales.

Keep improving, keep tweeking & "keep swimming" :)
