Need help ASAP!!

I just had my first international sale...YAY! Although it was a big wake up call on how much shipping is!! I pretty much made $3.00 off the sale, but I'm still grateful for it because it is getting me more exposure and it was a learning experience.

HOWEVER...she first purchased it, and then cancelled her order because she noticed the size was too small. I conv'd her back telling her I can make the print bigger and she does want to purchase the larger size. I've never had a cancelled order and have no idea what to do to refund her money!! The first cancelled order is still "open" and she hasn't purchase the new print yet.

I would greatly appreciate someone who can walk me through this!!

Relist the item first. Click on your receipt number in your sales, then hover over "manage order" to issue refund/ cancel transaction". If they paid via Paypal, you'll need to issue a refund there.

Yes, what Chris said. Make sure you renew before you cancel.

When you're ready to cancel, click on your receipt and hover over "manage order" on the right hand side of the receipt.

Did they pay via direct checkout or paypal? To refund through Paypal, click "details" on the transaction and scroll down to "issue a refund."

Ok I cancelled and refunded...thanks so much for your help!!

Only problem...I think I spoke too soon...I haven't heard back on whether or not she wants to buy the larger print for sure...kinda bummed!

She just bought the larger size. YAY! Now...can one of you kind Etsians walk me through the international shipping process?

I am planning on buying a shipping label through Etsy. I know that my package is 5 oz. I put in "Fine Art Print, 8x8 Inches" for the customs description. Does this sound okay?

I also have the PS form 2976 from the post office, but I'm not sure what to do with it. Do I fill out all three pages of the little booklet? Do I check "documents" or "merchandise" and do I check NOEE 30.37 (a) (goods under $2500). Where does this go? Do I hand it to the post office and they attach it to the package?

I can also just bring the form to the post office and ask them how to fill it out...

Hi Marie,
I just print out a First Class International label directly through Etsy and stick it on the package. No need to fill out forms anymore by hand. It is SO much easier now! The description and price are already filled in and it's automatically marked merchandise. Hope that helps!

Congrats on your first international sale! Since everyone else answered the other questions, I think that your name description is fine. It has to be brief and honestly describing what the package contains.

One last question...does the USPS First Class International shipping come with delivery confirmation? I want a tracking number with my order and I don't see where it says it.

Hi Marie,
I learned a lesson on international postage today even though I've shipped a lot of merchandise overseas. An Australian customer ordered 1 oz. of fabric samples for $1.00 + $2.50 shipping. Well, it cost me $6.61+packaging. I sure hope she comes back and orders pillows!
The USPS international shipping went way up in January.

There is no tracking for first class international. You have to pay over $20 or 25 to get a service with tracking.

That's correct. You only have the customs number which in my case, the last tracking info I get is "depart USPS sort facility, Miami, FL."
