Listing items separately vs. combining them and using listing variations.

I have a number of similar listings in my shop, and I was wondering if I could get some feedback on whether I should combine the previously separate listings. Not all of the planners are available in each time frame, so using catagories at the moment does making seeing what is available a bit easier, but I am wondering how the shop reads as a whole.

I had the listings mixed up until recently, and people seem to like the more organized approach, I've gotten more shop likes since I changed the format, so that part I like. Also, I wonder if the shop will look more empty if I combine the listings. I would only have two of each (printable, and hard copy in the time frames available). I will be adding printable versions, so this could increase the number of similar listings, but listing them separately could make the shop look more full, and may be easier to see what is available.

Thoughts? Check it out and let me know what you think.

I would go for seperate listings to increase shop visibility, but that's just my opinion.

I personally list each item separately. And as Jeanne said, it is very likely to increase your shop viability.

If the item is a different color, I list it separately. But if its something like ring size, chain length, earring post type I add it in the same listing as a variation.

Re: Listing items separately vs. combining them and using listing variations.

Greetings Mary

I prefer your listings separated as it shows the different time periods available.

I have a question along the same lines: I have TONS of stock. likely 300 unique pieces of jewelry. Should I group some? For example, I have alot of macrame bracelets, all the same design but with different color hemp and beads. Should I group them?

Thanks
Lizzie

I think that those would work better grouped, but you would also want to have one of the five photos show all of the color variations that they can choose from. With up to two variations per listing, they could pick a bead color in one variation, and a hemp color in the other. You could have the beads on one side of the "photo" and the hemp colors on the other. I think it's kinda nice when people have that.

Thanks Mary!

That is a grand idea that I am going to try out. I'll let you know when I have that up so you can take a peak.

You have been so helpful, WOW!

I think you got your answer and I agree that you should always have more listings for the sake of visibility! Also, saw we were neighbors :) Hello!

Neat! I just moved back to this area. I've lived in Orlando for a while.

Orlando is a nice get away! I don't think I could every live up there with all of the traffic. . I frequent the area, and usually stay on Idrive or around OTB because its cheap and everything is there! welcome back!
