So I'm back from my week vacation, and I come home to a card in the mail from someone I didn't know...turns out a buyer of mine sent me a hand written letter thanking me for the item I sold to her. I was in shock!! It's people like this that make me want to work my behind off and make this a success :)

Has anybody in this team experienced something like this? I really hope so!!

Oh wow, that is so great! I have not personally experienced a gesture like that before, but it does make my heart all warm and fuzzy when I get feedback or a conversation from a buyer about how much they love their items. Congrats, keep up the good work!

What a great feeling that would be. I have never gotten a hand written note. I have gotten thanks through convos or emails.

Yes, once I got a postcard from a repeat customer from Norway who was on vacation in Ft. Myers where my son used to live. He had mentioned that his family was going there for their vacation. He didn't like the warm weather but his family did. At the same time, we were going on vacation to Alaska to visit that same son who had moved there. The customer thought it amusing that he was going from cold weather to hot for vacation, and we were doing the opposite. I was so surprised when the post card came, and sent him a thank you for thinking of me. It sure is a small world, and Etsy helps make it smaller.

Awww that is vey nice. I imagine that would put me in the same frame of mind. I do love what I do but it is really flattering to have someone ELSE love it too :) You are obviously doing something great.

My greatest compliments thus far have been returning customers, feedback and the sweet convos.

Funny you should start this thread. I just (in the last half hour) got the nicest email from an Etsy buyer! Today I worked on a custom housewarming card for her (similar to the one in my profile pic). The listing lets the buyer choose colors and any special touches they want. This is my first order for one and since this is what I "do" - I love playing with paper and creating all kinds of little details by hand - I threw myself into the project. There's no way I made any money on the time spent but I had so much fun I don't even care. I sent a proof to the buyer and she sent back a gushing response about how wonderful it came out, how much she appreciates all the effort I put into it and how many wonderful people she's met through Etsy.

I can't stop smiling. :D

Recently someone did send me one for a handmade piece of jewelry. It was so wonderful!! I'm posting it near my workspace, for those times I start to feel discouraged... it is wonderful that customers take the time to send a little note, they really don't have to, so when they do it is very sweet! I wish I could give them a hug, lol!

I actually got a box of Hawaiian chocolates from a buyer in Hawaii to thank me for finding another pair of charms she really wanted. It was awesome!

Yes I also recently received a card from a customer. She told me that she sent it because she thought my "presentation" was good. I was shocked and so pleased at the time. I saved the card and take it out and look at it from time to time to remind me to keep putting my best forward.:)

What a great experience! I haven't had a handwritten letter yet, but I did get one feedback post that was exceedingly complimentary. I was so thrilled! I can imagine that you must have felt marvelous to receive something so personal in response to your work. Well done!

I love these stories! I've gotten a couple of emails from customers telling me how much they love their signs. More recently, I received THE sweetest email from a customer who was absolutely in love with the sign I made her. It really made my day--no, week... Well, actually, I'm sure it will stick with me a lot longer than that!

It's so great how just one person's kind words and gratitude can completely thwart any discouragement.

I love feedback from my customers, I feel my reward is hearing how satisfied that they are. I think a personal letter, is Super! It definitely says a lot about your customer service.
