Is it OK if I sell different types of items in one shop or ?

Hello friends,

It's been very hepful to read all your opinions and suggestions.

Now, I would like to ask you this;
I make resin jewelry, decoden items like phone covers, mirrors, frames, boxes ect..
Also polymer clay supplies and jewelry, dust plugs for smart phones, personalized mugs and cups, plates...
Yes, too much things to organize :)

I started to make new listings and I delisted some items which I see are not selling.

I have different types of new items but not so sure to sell them in one shop.

What do you suggest, should I sell them seperately on different shops or is it Ok if I sell them on my existing shop.

Any suggestions and comments would be highly appriciated, thank you in advance.

I don't know either! I have been wondering the same thing. My shop used to be jewelry from salvaged and vintage material; I just re-opened in September and am listing my stoneware clay pieces. However, I want to begin to re-list some of my other jewelry, but not sure if the shop would loose the cohesive feel?

Thanks for posting, I need advise too!

I too have lots of random items. I create whatever comes in my head without much cohesion. Would love to hear others' opinions!

I have a few different things in my shop- some findings, some jewellery and some terrariums. I would create sections in your shop for each type of item you sell, e.g.
Resin Jewellery
Polymer Clay jewellery
Mugs

And then perhaps rearrange your shop page by page to show some a few mugs, and then a few pieces of polymer clay jewellery and then some resin jewellery etc. You could also arrange your shop by colour which I'm sure will look very aesthetically pleasing to a viewer :)
You can make your shop cohesive by using similar photo background or photo styles, so even if your items are different and varied, they'll still have your style.
Remember if you decide to start new shops, you'll have lots of work to do with marketing and listing on both of them!

Re: Is it OK if I sell different types of items in one shop or ?

I sell headbands and then I added my wire trees. I was thinking about doing 2 different shops but I have had some people tell me that if I keep them all in one then I can attract different kinds of buyers therefore generate more sales. Although I only have one sale so far, I do get a wide range of views for both items. I have also had some people contact me for the trees but then comment on how nice my headbands are. So I am thinking that maybe when they think about a headband they will remember "oh yeah that tree place had them" :) or vice versa.

A suggestion that I received from a potential buyer was to group and rearrange everything together. I created my sections in my shop to reflect that as well as rearranging my photos on my page. :)

Hope that helps! Good luck :)

Re: Is it OK if I sell different types of items in one shop or ?

Thank you very much for sharing your suggestions.

I used to have about 60 items on my shop, mostly resin jewelry but as i mentioned before İ didn't renew the items which I believe are not effective.

I realized that personalized items such as chalkboard mugs and cups are more attactive to buyers as I sold 6 mugs in a very short time.
So I focus on these now.

I think I'm going to keep all my items in one shop and see what will happen.

I usually use white background for my photos but i see some very cute colored or illustration backgrounds on some sellers' shops which i think is attractive. Do you agree?
Should i try this, you can see what i've been selling so far and is it a good idea to use that sort of background for my items?

Thank you very much for taking your time and answering my questions.

Re: Is it OK if I sell different types of items in one shop or ?

I will in a few weeks time add some items that are not even jewelry related, I just don't think it's worthwhile opening a new shop for just this. I know some people already think my items are too much "all over the place" but I find that I only do what I really love and that things aren't really that bad?

I would try and have all my items in one shop, that way you'll also see what items are the most popular and if you should eventually go another direction with your shop or keep it as it is. That's what I'll do at least. I am trying to figure out what items from my shop people like best, etc etc.
