How do I duplicate my success?

Ok so I have this burp cloth set that for some reason has been popular-
https://www.etsy.com/listing/82460451/baby-burp-cloth-set-baby-set-burp-cloths?
To be honest, I wasn't absolutely in love with it, but for some reason it gets favored several times a day and I've sold at least 7 sets to date.

So my question is- what did I do right with this listing and how do I duplicate it's success in my other listings? Is there something specific that I haven't done in my other listings.
Looking for some new perspective :)

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

it is your best picture, some of the tshirts are wrinkled.

big problem....

you have a ton of trademark violations that can get you shut down.

onesies is owned by gerber, and they are very active in protecting their property.
as is disney.

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

If it sells and relists often, then its being seen in peoples activity feeds.

But the secret to success is to trade on your own name and not the names of other companies. If people want to purchase someone else's brand, they will go directly to that shop.

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

Thanks so much for your suggestions-
@ Alex. I had no idea- that was an issue. I guess I figured it was like using the word "t-shirt"? suggestions for other titles?

@ crochetgal- I'm not sure what this means? "But the secret to success is to trade on your own name and not the names of other companies. If people want to purchase someone else's brand, they will go directly to that shop."

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

Kim, if you search the word "onesie" in the threads or teams, there are entire threads discussing alternate terms for "onesie". I agree, why build a successful shop on ground that can be ripped out from under you at any given second? Take your shop in a positive direction that isn't dependent on copyrighted names, logos, etc (onesie, Minnie mouse, etc)

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

Bodysuit is the most common word to replace onesie. That's is what they call them when you are searching Carter's, JC Penney, etc. looking for baby clothes.

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

Don't feel bad. The entire process of owning a shop and creating products is all a learning process. I really can't add anything else that hasn't already been said.

Wish you much success after you make the necessary changes.

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

Yes, don't feel bad. Onesie is like Chapstick or Band-Aid or Kleenex. They get used as an item name but really, they are a brand name and the products themselves are actually bodysuit, lip balm, bandage, tissue......

You only seem to have two trandmarked character items (Curious George and Minnie Mouse) and the rest of your items seem to be yours. So really, other than the massive undertaking of changing all your "onesie" to "bodysuit" and taking down the two listings that go against copyright/trademark laws, you're really in good shape. :)

Oh! Just saw an Elmo thing as well.

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

You want to remove copyright/trademark infringing items from your shop before you get into big trouble.
So, hooray for your best selling products being your own design!

Re: How do I duplicate my success?

To easily edit all of my listings I use the editing tool on craftopolis.com. You should be able to change all of your onsie words to something else fairly easily using it.

isnt there a way to use the word Onesies?

I hear there are many rules as to how you can use it, but it may be possible.
