Front Page Schmront Page!

I've tried and tried and I just can't do it.

I've seen so many shops with the white background that always seems to make FP. They're all lovely too. I just like a little color in my pics. I think I'm just going to accept that I'm ok with my photo style... even if I never make FP ***sigh*** :)

Just wondering if any of you have ever made FP with a non-white background?

Of course I know it occasionally happens, just wanting to get a personal glimmer of hope!

I made a color inspired treasury (even though a few do have white back grounds! ;) ) featuring as many of us color lovers as I could!

Etsy has a look that they go for, no doubt. But I LOVE color, lol! I have thought maybe I should take some pics with a white background and see what happens, or doesn't happen ;)

That Treasury was rainbow related. See....it depends on many factors.

FP Treasuries must be: balanced and with some sort of visual theme; not necessarily an item theme

I mostly use white backgrounds, but never made anywhere close to front page and doubt I ever will. I don't think my items are "out there" or artsy fartsy enough for them.

I made this treasury on Friday, was on FP and I couldn't see!!! My building must have learned from my screams of joy! I was happy and that I still have not started my shop! I wanted to see it on FP!

As mentioned by someone above, you can check if you have been featured in a treasury, or have curated a treasury that has gone to front page by going to craftcult.com and clicking on "Vault" and then type in your business name in the box below on the right. In the box on the left you can select either "lists made by" or "featured in" options.

OK...correction...click on "The Vault" then "search for member" then put your business name in the box to the right.

If any lists come up click on "view this list."

I was featured in a treasury that made FP and my photo did not have a white background. Just keep on keeping on because every now and then color gets a break.

I am glad to hear that there are other people who love their background colors! I was so discouraged by all of my shop critiques, that I went for the white :( BLAH! I loved photographing my pieces by shells, nautical items, glass, etc. but everyone kept saying that my backgrounds were distracting. Who knows, maybe I'll join the COLOR REVOLUTION too! I love color!

Quirky, I love you photos. They are appealing. Even if it doesn't make it to the front page because it's not white it could easily be featured in someone's blog and would look fantastic!

OK, after reading all the posts I went and really looked at my shop photos LOTS of color! But I love it, I think I might actually have a fear of white! Oh well, I'm just going to keep going in the color direction and hope for the best!

I started out using white backgrounds because that's what i read and was told, but when i added color to my backgrounds i started selling and also have been in numerous treasuries.

The front page is a trophy. So while i probably wont make it to the front page, i would rather have sells anyway. That's what we are all here for right?

Ha, how apt this thread is! On Friday I made it to the front page with my Mod Spring Tite book end. I got lots of views, tons of faves, but did I sell anything that day? No! I sold things every other day this week, EXCEPT for the day I was on the front page.
