First three tags??

Is it true that the first 3 tags are the only ones that are important for the Etsy search algorithm, and that all the others have equal weight?

Is it true that Google doesn't use Etsy tags, just the title and description?

Is anyone for a 'drag and drop' tool for tags? It sure would help!

Admin says that the order of tags does not matter at this time, so I think the first 3 should not be more important than the rest. However, the first 3 words of the title ARE the most important.

Google has been using only titles for search for a while now including on Etsy, so I would say that is true that Google doesn't use Etsy tags. The description would not be used for search either, but does show up under the title in search. It's mainly used to draw people to click once they find your item.

Drag and drop or a click on our most-used tags sounds good!

Oh geez, I hope that isn't true! I definately don't want to go back and reorgainze all my tags!! wow....

The order of the tags do not make any difference. Your keywords need to go to the front of the title and the front of the description. Descriptions are used in searches as well. I read that all the tags have equal weight. And yes the most important are the first three words in your title. This reminds me that I need to recheck my titles! LOL

Just wanted to confirm this, Google doesn't care about tag words? I thought I read somewhere that for Google, even the order of tags matters.. so surely it does take account of tags? Would be good to have this clarified.
