Fewer views!

Hi, everyone!

I guess I'm here to ask for some advice. There are several other threads going for people who are lacking in sales, but they say that their views are increasing, and that they've never really had any sales to begin with.

For me, though, I was having a consistent and satisfying number of sales until just recently, and all of the sudden I'm not getting sales OR views. It's been about a month now (around the time that the tagging system changed) since I've noticed a difference. Is it something that I'm doing wrong? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I'm no expert, but I'll just give you my two cents.

Your shop is really cool actually :) It has a lot of interesting stuff. It's also good that you realized that your business slowed down once the new tagging system came to Etsy. I've looked at several of your items (you have a good number of items as well, so there shouldn't be a problem with that). Some of your item titles are a little too simplistic. Try to put in more keywords, the important keywords being in the front of the title and the less general, more detailed keywords in the back. Also, to help people find your shop on Google, you might want to change your "shop title" (jeeze, julia! this stuff's neat!) to words that describe your shop; leave the shop title to your banner :).

These are the things that I have researched, since I don't really have much experience (I only have 20 sales, haha). But best of luck to you and I hope your sales rise soon!

Ooh, thank you! That "shop title" is something I had completely forgotten about! I've been reading and changing and re-reading a lot of other parts, but somehow missed that. Thanks!

About the listing titles, though, I've read that simple is always better. It helps people know exactly what something is without too much clutter. I don't know, though. It just doesn't seem to make much sense that the sales and views dropped off so suddenly...

i was happily surprised to be in an etsy newsletter today...really awesome...got over a 1,000 views from it...not a single sale though! sigh

Bummer! That is really exciting news and so disappointing that it didn't really add up to sales. Maybe you've found some new followers, though, that will buy from you in the future!

My views and sales are down also. But I have been busy twiking and adding. Im hopeful.
