Pricing Frustration.....

So if I go by the scales and formulas for pricing I'm UNDER pricing my items, but I know they are on the high end. I'm confident in my work, I've been designing and crocheting for over 20 years. I'm just not sure what to do here..... I've been tweaking tags and titles, I've been facebooking and tweeting, been blogging.... and it just seems like my views are up but my sales are WAY down... :(

Help please!!!!

Re: Pricing Frustration.....

Wow your pics are great, I like the things you do, I noticed low sales in my shop since august. August was my best month only because I submited a lost necklace (tv series) in a fan blog with a coupon code. But if wasnt for that necklaces, I would say I noticed a low in the Sales:views ratio

Re: Pricing Frustration.....

I think your prices look good, comparable to other shops. I LOVE that little crochet diaper cover, I would think sales will be back up as the holidays start to approach!

Re: Pricing Frustration.....

I am in love with your shop! Pics are amazing! And I think the prices are very reasonable for the quality and uniqueness of your items.

All I can say is that if everyone else is like me... They love it, but they just don't have the money. I just saw three things in your shop that I'd buy tonight if I did have any extra cash flow!

Re: Pricing Frustration.....

I am having a similar dilemma. I've read that the formula for pricing is (labour + materials) x 2 but I feel like this would make my prices very high prohibitively high. I feel similarly confused, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for any tips:)

I looked at your site, which looks great! I think it's really good that you have a range of prices available.

Are you getting similar traffic as last year with less sales, or have the traffic flow slowed down as well. Perhaps looking into that could solve some questions. If its the former, maybe its just a matter of continuing to tweak your tags.

Good luck!

Thank you Linda! I was hoping it's just the economy. Reading what you wrote put a little peace back in my mind :)

Re: Pricing Frustration.....

And I just came across this in another discussion: http://whatthecraft.com/overpriced-cant-afford-handmade-pricing/

A nice affirmation of the value of handmade work!
