Great tip on adding new items, JenniferWhitmer, thank you. I am in the early stages, looking for my niche, wanting to only list my very best, and don't have very many listings. As I decide to list items, I have been posting several at once. This is a good way to keep your shop interesting.

Is there a real benefit to re-listing items regularly?

Wow! Thank you, I AM just starting and I often read the "quit your day job" blog and wonder, how DID they get to that point where they could sell online full time? I wonder just how I can get traction to build up more business for my shop. Thanks for these great links, looking forward to learning more!

To Freehandcards: Yes, I think re-listing is important (without being excessive) while tossing in regular new items into the mix. New people are looking at your re-listed items while people who have favorited your shop are checking for new things.

Good luck to you! Hanging out with this Etsy Success group is an incredible learning opportunity - so much more fun and interesting than going to boring old business school. It's all hands on!

Thank you Danielle! A lot of great information. Answering your question “What tip did you wish you were told you were just starting?” I should admit that I wish I had a lot of good tips on photography. It’s amazing what you can do even with a simple camera and without fancy photo software if you just spend some time and read some articles about taking great photos. I am still learning, but I believe I’ve improved a lot since I’ve started my business.

LeSilveStone - I agree! You don't need a fancy camera or expensive software. It's just a matter of perfecting the equipment you do have.

catching up on the thread. I have to say I have such an old sad camera and no editing software at all... I just crop LOL My picture are ok. What I do have though is good lighting (I have a light tent and photographic lights because I live in a wooded area and none of my window get great light)

i find that lighting is the single most important thing for picture. Someday i will upgrade to a better camera but now this one does the job :)

Thanks Danielle, I finally set aside one morning and have read through everything. I came across an article about being paralyzed when faced with too many choices. I realize I do this when I start to procrastinate. I learned that if you remove yourself from the equation (emotionally) then it is easier to come up with the solution in order to move ahead.
