I wish someone had told me not to put my shop on vacation. I went away for a week to vend, put my shop on vacation (thus removing from sight all of my inventory) and was shocked at how the viewership dropped! It stayed down for quite some time (it had been doing well up until then) and I went on a pretty aggressive re-listing program to get things going again. Now I just add a line in the Shop Announcements that I will be away from such and such a time and can ship after a specific date. Now my shop is always open for business.
Also, it is so important to add new items. I discovered this the hard way. When people like your shop they will visit again and again to see what new things you have. Don't list everything at once when you have new items. Instead, spend a morning setting up new listings, load the photos, work on the descriptions etc. but don't press the FINISH button. At this point copy each link and send them in separate emails to yourself (the file is still hanging out there in cyberspace waiting to be finished). Then once or twice a day click onto a link in one of the emails, press finish and list the item. I may have a lineup of emails 6 or 8 long and list them one at a time over a period of days.
Note: Do one listing at a time and email the link to yourself, before moving on to the next listing, check the email you have sent yourself to make sure the link is there. You won't be able to access the link otherwise and all of your hard work will be for naught.
Thank you, Danielle, for your on-going help and support. I appreciate so much what you do for all of us. May everyone be successful!
