Do you Flickr?

Does anyone use Flickr? How do you make that work for Etsy?

Re: Do you Flickr?

i have been on Flickr for about 5 years and have 2 pro accounts--one to show my art in progress, travel pics, etc. the other is for my local nature and art class related pictures and supports my daily nature blog.

i do list my etsy shop in both profiles but it is not the main reason i post anything there. i do get comments and interactions and for me it is another way to maintain an online presence for minimal energy expenditure

the best way to use Flickr is to join groups, comment on other people's work, etc.

Re: Do you Flickr?

I use Flickr as another source to bring people into my site to see my vintage handbags.

However, you have to be careful. Flickr will flag you if you add links to your site in the titles or descriptions of your photos. You can, however, add your links in your profile and people who are curious enough to find you will put it together and find you.

I have several sets of my handbags and fabrics I use. And when I have new inventory, I post several pics out to my sets, and then I post to all the groups that I am a part of.

Why go through the effort? Eventually this information either gets indexed by Google or people find you through searching Flickr. Its a bit of extra work and you may not see results immediately, but its generally a good idea to do.

If anyone is curious, you can see my Flickr account here:

and how I use the Flickr photos on my blog here:

Hope this helps!
