I keep reading all these threads about why am I not selling, etc There's lots of good advice on them, but a lot of it is the same thing over and over. I've tried telling people they need to define their target market and I mostly get ignored because I think a lot of people just starting out haven't thought through what it really means to start and run your own business and why defining your target market as everyone is not feasible. If you're really serious about it and want to be successful long term you need to start thinking like a business person.
One of the single best resources out there for a small business person is the SBA (Small Business Administration). They have a lot of free resources and advice for how to get started running a small business.
