Do I do it my way or wait for confirmation?

Hi y'all need opinions. I have a customer who bought a bowl to engrave. Awesome :)

I sent a couple of convos and now, a couple of emails with a sample of how her engraving would look and asking if she would prefer it on top of the lid or on the bottom (inside) of the lid. People have been wanting engravings on the inside of the lid - sort of a trend.

But it's been four days and I haven't had an answer. Should I engrave it the way I think it should be or wait to hear from the customer? She's already paid for it. But I don't want her to be unhappy if it's not the way she envisioned.

What would you do? Thanks, Kristin

What did the listing show as the processing time? If you still have time to wait, try sending an email instead of a conversation. If not, do it your way and hope for the best.

Yes it shows processing time, and that I would be in contact. Sent both emails and convos. It will look lovely either way....but I want her to say "yes" - lol. Thanks, K

I wait as long as I can for approval for engraving proofs I send....but every once in a while...after 3-4 messages with no response...I just have to do it. =)

I've never had any complaints about the engravings without approvals...*fingers crossed*.

Does it hurt to wait a bit longer? It's a sale after all

Hi Kristin,

I would wait a few more days! then send another convo and also an e-mail telling your customer that you need her feedback to be able to process the order. If, your customer does not respond I would do the order as pictured in the order - or by default.

Blessings,

Re: Do I do it my way or wait for confirmation?

Thanks y'all. I'm sending more convos and emails.

I didn't realize until now that the subject looked like a raging ego-maniac, sigh. Not my actual intent.

Thanks again,K

Hopefully you have heard from the customer by now - definitely waiting for a few more days was the best choice

This is just and idea for future transactions. I have seen it somewhere - You can state in your policies that if the customer does not let you know her/his preference within a certain period of time (x days), you will engrave the top, bottom, your choice, etc. That way, you will be covered.

Good luck.

You may want to contact Etsy admin re. this so you don't get dinged for late shipping or shipping a style your client doesn't want.

In the future add a default style so that if you don't hear from the client you will be confident in sending the default style. Good luck!!
