Different colours, different listings?

I am starting a new selection of bracelets soon, and I was wondering what I should do - as they are all quite similar, but in different colours (but same pendant). Should I create new listings for each colour I make, meaning $0.20 for each (but more exposure) or put them all in one listing, but with the option of choosing a colour at check out? I favour the first idea more, as then if someone clicks on to my shop they can see all the colours all at once, and it will mean more listings, but what would you do? x

Re: Different colours, different listings?

Hello Grace!

If it were me, I would make a post for each item/color. I know it would cost .20 per item, but your right it would get you more exposure. I also feel like buyers have a hard time envisioning the product sometimes, unless they can physically see it. Listing each item separate will also result in more advertising for a new product. Maybe after you have had them available for a while, you can move to listing them together, with the option to choose the color at checkout.

Good Luck, hope this helps!

Re: Different colours, different listings?

I would post it as one listing with photos to show the different color options and a note in your description of what they need to do to let you know which color they want.

I see the obvious advantages of listing as separate items, and don't see that as a wrong way to go. It's just that it leads people to believe you have more individual items than you rally have. I think the more honest approach is to show that it's one item offered in different color choices.

However, either way really works. There's no right or wrong way to go about this. Try one way, and if it doesn't bring the results you want, switch to the other and see what happens.

Good luck!

Re: Different colours, different listings?

Try doing a couple different listings with different tags/ititles and see which ones get the most hits. . .

Re: Different colours, different listings?

I would post one listing per color too. Many buyers don't read the descriptions and may not understand that they have to choose one color.

Re: Different colours, different listings?

I personally would make an individual post for each item. Then in each listing put a link to the other items. Then in each listing make sure you use a variety of keywords and titles.

Re: Different colours, different listings?

I would make an individual listing for each color, as well. The purchases I have made that involve color choices have not always been successful (for me). In addition, if a buyer is looking for a blue bracelet and your first photo shows a red bracelet, would they stop to check if you offer a variety of colors? Etsy offers so many choices! I think one listing per bracelet would make it easier for your prospective buyer.

Good luck.

Re: Different colours, different listings?

I think it's well worth the extra listing fee if you have that many more items listed! The more listings, the more exposure. Also, I would think that it would be easier and more straightforward for both buyer and seller to bypass the "notes to seller" and to not have to have them specify color in the checkout process. Even as a buyer, if I have to specify what color or whatever during checkout, I usually forget, and have to convo them, and it's one more step.

Re: Different colours, different listings?

individual.
however, if you want you can kind of do both. have one listing for 2-3 different colors. you could have pink, purple, or red then green, blue, or brown and black, white, or grey. something like that. im not sure of all the color choices.
