How do you decide what to blog about?

I joined this team, to motivate me to blog on a regular basis. However I am at a loss for what to write about. Where do you get your inspirations?

I have a schedule set up (although I've only been following it for a couple of weeks): Monday-Recipe of the Week, Tuesday-Tutorial or HowTo, Wednesday- What I've Been Working On, Thursday-Thought for the Week, Friday- Etsy Treasury, Saturday- Anything I want to share that doesn't fit somewhere else, Sunday-Spiritual Thought. The schedule helps me plan ahead and pay attention to stuff I could blog about. Like for the recipes, I try to photograph something we are having for dinner this week so that I can post the recipe next week. I'm always thinking about stuff I can put in my blog and kind of planning ahead.

Wow, I feel so lame next to KaelMijoy, ha ha.

Well I really only post a couple of times a week. I usually just post what I've been working on. I guess supposedly that's bad but I don't know, I kind of wanted my blog to be about my paintings specifically. :-/

Like Stacey, I blog about what I'm thinking or inspired by that day. I also keep a list of possible ideas for times when I'm not feeling particularly inspired.

I keep a note pad with me, and constantly take pictures with my cell phone of anything, then I look through my list and the pictures I have taken to come up with ideas. if i dont write them down i forget, and my ideas often dont come to me when there is a computer near by.

I have also read a lot of blogs that do theme days, or just have reoccurring things, like "fab find friday" or "steals and deals" that way you can gain a following, and have material for the days with blogblock.

normally i just wait for the inspiration to hit but i keep track of any and all ideas to expand upon later. i have one series about empowering yourself and your craftings ( http://www.merriweathercouncilblog.com/p/empowerment.html ) and i do weekly favorites.

I too keep a list and take tons of pictures of many things I am working on, more just for me, not necessarily shop items. I also take pictures of meals and recipes I make as well. I don't always blog about everything but his way I am semi-prepared if I need a post. I have been working on a sewing room makeover and have possted lots of pictures about that lately. I am also working on a lot of UFO's (unfinished objects) of my own and will be posting those along the way.

You can do shop features of others, post treasuries you are in or make. I have been joining in link party lately which gives me inspiration and more traffic, I have a few listed on my blog on the left hand side. Do some wondering and get some inspiration. Some weeks I blog daily, others just a time or two.

Well.. I think all these ideas are great and once you get the ball rolling.. you'll find your own niche. I just started and got plenty of ideas for other people, but I'm starting off actually linking descriptions for my prints and photos on each listing to a blog post. Most viewers do want to know what I was thinking of during the working process. It really depends on what you do as well.

and I think this is a good way to have the blog community contribute with fun art endeavors while promoting your shop as well. :)

I plan on showing other random art project's processes and maybe just more say to day thoughts. Anything goes! Be creative and open. Hope this helps!

I'm lucky. My blog is called "Ask Sister Mary Martha" and that's what people do, more than not. Sometimes I can't even keep up.

Then suddenly there will be a question drought (like now!). But then I can turn to the church calendar and talk about what we ought to be doing. Or the saint of the day. Or the Pope in the news.

I'm usually good to go.
