I am soooooo confused!!

And it doesn't take much to make me this way!!

I just sold an item to a customer from Canada. And she paid with DC!!! I thought international couldn't pay this way!

AND this brings me back to my thread about preferred payment option for my shop. This person purchased from me in Sept via PayPal. Because DC is now first payment option choice I BET this person just proceeded on out using DC. I want PayPal my first option!

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

I believe International can purchase using DC, but International sellers do not yet have the ability to enroll their shops in DC.

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

Just curious why it makes you mad that your customers are using DC? Seems there would be a simple solution to just disable it if you do not like it. I know that is what I did with paypal :-)

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

I've had a few international DC sales, and they have gone smoothly. It's nice because now we can print International First Class labels through Etsy too!

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

I love being able to print international labels through Etsy. And Etsy has an option for choosing padded priority envelopes, which Paypal does not.

I love the padded envelope option too, and first class international is great.

I also love the weekly deposits, makes bookkeeping simpler

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

Yes Lang, it's true! It allows you to fill out the same info that you would for a paper customs form at the post office, but now you don't have to make the trip! Just remember to sign & date the label once you print it out (the same as you would sign/date the customs form at the post office). Then drop it in a mailbox and it'll be on its way. Good luck!

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

Kelly, do they still have mailboxes in Connecticut? The ONLY mailboxes I see here in Sacramento are in areas with LOTS of offices. They're no longer on every corner as they were when I was growing up in the Midwest.

Glad to know that First Class International can be dropped in a mailbox though (for those who have easy access to mailboxes). I thought ALL international mail had to either be taken to the post office counter OR handed directly to a carrier.

Tana, It only has to be handed to a carrier at the post office if it has stamps on it. If you process it through a service such as direct checkout that prints the labels, you can mail box it.

Re: I am soooooo confused!!

The international first class printing is a godsend. No standing in line during holiday season. And our wonderful city just downsized our ONE post office for a city of 60,000. They went from 5 clerks to 3 so I am thrilled about the international labels. Now, if sales will pick up for the holidays. . .
