Do you have any goals set up for your shop? Setting goals and writing out an ideal 'roadmap' could be really helpful for your Etsy shop. If you do, share your goals here and we'll see if we can help you achieve them!

What would you like to accomplish the coming month, over the next six months, or the next year? (Or, if you dare, over the next five years even?)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to sell 20 items before the end of the year.
I did have a goal of listing 100 items but I met that last night! :)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Love goal setting! I'm trying to be as patient as I can.

By October 1: 40 listings, 1 sale a week
By November 1: 50 views a day, 2 sales a week
By December 1: 3 sales a week
By January 1: 100 listings and 4 sales a week

I just opened mid August. Does this sound doable?

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to sell more than 10 veils before Christmas. To Christmas my shop is two month old.As I'm new on Etsy, something puzzled me is that there's not much view on my shop, so I have a search ads promotion now, hope it will be effective and I can have a good beginning on Etsy. I like the sentence above,"my shop will bloom faster than the flowers outside"

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My only goals are to grow, people to love what I make for them, and to get to where I generate enough sales on here to support 3 small one bedroom cabins. AH.. I have to make enough to build them first!

I work outside of ETSY, so all my work here is used for that.. but it would be lovely to start work on them next year. Why not dream BIG???

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goals:
1.Train my 13-yr-old daughter to be my fully-qualified assistant (she already makes items for me to sell, and is catching onto how to list, print shipping labels, and package items. She is extremely bright and competent for her age, in case you were questioning my judgement in having an assistant that young! LOL)
2.Get my listings up to at least 65 by the end of the year
3.Keep posting in teams regularly
4.Get my studio organized so I can create and package more efficiently
5.Continue to make unique items that make me happy to create and to look at when they're finished ('cause if I love them, somebody else will too!)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

1. Get back to (& surpass) 300 listings. I want to maintain 300 at any given time (for the foreseeable future) but would love to reach 350 sales.
2. 150 sales by Christmas -- 19 to go!!
3. 2500 combined shop/item views monthly.
4. 1500 combined shop/item hearts monthly.
5. more effective use of social media; I have ideas which I won't get into here (could go on about this)
6. to get some initial, big decisions made about my upcoming website.
7. more sterling silver inventory!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Goal 1 - Learn to price items correctly

Goal 2 - Learn to photograph and describe my items better

Goal 3 - Increase and learn social media skills and interactions

After I figure out the basics of the first three goals I will move on to 4 and 5

Goal 4 - Increase the amount of items I have for sale

Goal 5 - Make my first sale

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to make 50 items for my shop. I'd like to keep increasing that, but 50 is a good starting point. (I'm at 21 now).

What I do is kind of a niche. I really love doing it: collecting stories of people's beloved pets for portraits, and thinking up critters and themes to paint for the shop's general stock. I want to focus on a.) really developing and being true to my style and quality, and b.) finding ways to reach the buyers who will appreciate/want my work.

Eventually I might like to start one or two other Etsy shops to concentrate on other interests with broader appeal, but for now (and probably always) I want to focus on making this shop the best it can be.

Good luck and sales to all. I've enjoyed reading and relating to your posts.
:-)

Oh, and I suppose I better set a sales goal, heh: a minimum of 4 per month would be a great start. I just want to get up some momentum.

This is my new Etsy shop (I have a toy shop too) my short term goal is 2 sales a week to start and double it every other month. I also want it to completely support itself and then add to the family savings account for a new house.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I haven't put a lot of thought into my goals for my shop & I realize that it can be a recipe for no sales if I do that. Thank you for posting this , as I needed a reminder.

Goals/Short Term-

1) Take better photos of my products
2) Get up to 20 listings by the end of December.
3) Make 5 more sales by the end of December.
4) Get back into markets to sell.

Long Term -

1) Make 50 sales on Etsy by Spring 2014
2) Make 200 sales or better by next December on Etsy.

Thank you! Time to map out this plan & get started.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I aim for 500 listings in my shop and 100 views a day. Working with teams and treasuries is the key! I would love to cut back in my extensive art show travel schedule.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My first goal is to learn more of the ins and outs of Etsy and marketing.
My second goal is to figure out a strong target market and boost sales past friends and family. I want to turn this in to my at home business where I can do what I love and have time for my three boys.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I have lots of goals since opening my shop but I realize I have to prioritize or else I'll go nuts and it will all seem to overwhelming.
So first I need to fill up my shop. I would like 50 items by end of January.
Thats what I;m going to focus on for now. And do a few craft fairs.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I have two main goals that I would like to achieve by the end of this year: have 50 items in my shop and have at least 5 sales (I'm currently at 2). I'm close to both goals so hopefully they will happen!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I usually try to set goals weather it be make more stuff or make more sales. I keep a book with steps that I need to do to accomplish those goals. Of coarse sometimes i go off coarse. I need to make more stuff so I have decided that next month to challenge myself and make 30 dolls in 30 days or a doll a day. That will mean for me getting up at 5 or 6 am and getting to work
