Did you set goals for your shop?

Do you have any goals set up for your shop? Setting goals and writing out an ideal 'roadmap' could be really helpful for your Etsy shop. If you do, share your goals here and we'll see if we can help you achieve them!

What would you like to accomplish the coming month, over the next six months, or the next year? (Or, if you dare, over the next five years even?)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My first goal, which I am still working towards, is to reach 250 listings... currently I am at around 55. I take my time with each item and want to maintain quality so I am taking my time getting there.

My second goal was to increase views and so far I have been successful with this. I went from around 5 views a day to upwards of 20. (my shop has only been open 2 weeks although my start date says march)

My third goal was to set up a website. Something separate from Etsy that would link potential clients to my shop. I completed this last week and with no knowledge of how to build a website I was proud to do so.. lol...

www.orangecricketdesigns.com

Finally another short term goal is to actually make a sale! lol. It gets discouraging not having one but I am researching in the form of designing, marketing, pricing, ect... Hoping this goal gets met sooner then later :)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I think we all have a goal in our mind, we just don't want to jinx it. I set a goal that I would like to at least surpass my sales from last year. Well 6 months into the year and I have nearly done that. So with still the busiest part of the year coming up I am going to reset my goal to double my sales over last year for the last 6 months.

I do know you have to keep adding items and Hearting and Fav'ing and listing. If I just had a little fairy that would do my listings for me, they tend to be so time consuming, for me anyway.

Good Luck and may we all reach our Goals.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My main goal is to get a total of five sales this month. I only have one so far. I know it sounds easy, but I'm still pretty new and am still trying to get my business going. Longterm, I would like to get at least 20 sales a month.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

For me, I think it would help my shop if I were to list 20 dolls per month and promote them. I know it sounds tedious, but if I take it one step at a time, my shop will bloom faster than the flowers outside. lol

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

A goal we would like to accomplish is at least 5 sales a month. Although this is just a small step I believe that a consistent stream of sells with facilitate our business and make it have staying power.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to figure out what item I can quilt that everyone goes crazy about:)

I do set goals as to how many of each item I want to have in stock. If I sell a book cover, I make another to replace it.

Another goal is for my shop to make enough sales to support "my habit" --- buying fabric.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to make at least one sale by the end of this year. It's small and something I won't be too disappointed about if I don't reach it.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal right now is to reach a hundred items and to finish setting up a webpage for my shop. :) I would love to see more sales soon, but I'm hoping that will be a natural outcome of my efforts.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I have long term goals but since I just opened my shop I'm going to focus on short term goals for now.

I'm working on building up my inventory and once I do I will go full force in promoting my shop. I have a Facebook page for the shop and in the near future I will create a website, a shop Twitter account as well as a Pinterest account.

I'm happy with the sales that I've had so far and I'm looking forward to making a LOT more especially once I've built up my inventory.

I'm also a strong believer in helping others promote their shops.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I have several goals.
- add 4 new listings every week.
- increase views and favorites of my products.
- make my first sale.
- figure out something special to include with my package (once I've made that first sale) that will please the customer and encourage them to promote my shop.
- participate in an art fair or festival.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I love hearing other people's goals! I hope you all get there! My goal for next summer was to solder and I have done it already! Next summer, now, I would like to be making all sorts of clothes! I just started making tops.

I also would love to make shoes! or upcylce already existing shoes.

in 5 years I would love to have my own shop. I have a 9 and a half month old lttle girl and could not possible have enough time to do that now, rather spend it with her until she goes to school everyday.

in 6 months I would like to have 200 more sales. I am up to 15,000+ views and 6,000+ favorites and would like to also double this in the next 6 months.

in two years I would like to have made all my daughters clothes!

Looking ahead while planting my feet safely in the present.

Best of luck to everyone<3

Keep Sm:)ing,
Mary Rose

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Right now, my goals are pretty much in the present, then I'll work on some more long term when I get my feet planted a little more firmly I think.

Build up my inventory, that is really my tough spot right now because it can take a while to do each pair of earrings. Also, add necklaces.

Work on my pictures. I have changed them many times over the last few weeks. I finally feel like I have something a little more cohesive for the main picture, but I have to get the rest caught up yet. I wanted a more modern take initially, like they were doing a catwalk :) but I'm not a photographer by any means, so I think pictures will forever be a work in progress for me.

Getting SEO/tags working successfully for me on search engines.

More networking. I kind of jumped into social media a little fast, so I'm slow in getting it all together. But get my social media together and with a better flow so it attracts more people.

Get my first sale! I swear I will so do a little dance in my living room that day!!

Good luck everyone! The support is always loved and welcomed!!
