Do you have any goals set up for your shop? Setting goals and writing out an ideal 'roadmap' could be really helpful for your Etsy shop. If you do, share your goals here and we'll see if we can help you achieve them!

What would you like to accomplish the coming month, over the next six months, or the next year? (Or, if you dare, over the next five years even?)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I just started adding products to my shop again on August 19, so don't let the 2010 start date fool you.

My short-term goal is to have 20 items listed in my shop by the end of the month. I would also like to have 200 views of my shop and products by August 31. These are things that I can control. Of course, it is my hope that sales will follow.

For September, I plan to double the above numbers, and so on, and so on.

In the meantime, I am working on new products to add and promoting my store.

Wishing everyone here on this Team success in obtaining their goals.

Clear skies!
Debra

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I never really thought of this! Makes sense but I would love to sell one item a week to start with for my goal.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

my goals include improving my store by adding new items and also getting my first sale and hopefully many more to come after that. I also have another goal of improving my pictures and working on titles and tags that help increase views on a daily basis. The last is always ongoing which is promoting it in better ways

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I have three goals right now. The first one was to have at leas 3 sales this month. So far I'm at 2. The next goal was to increase my views. I went from having on average less than 20 a day to this week finally having my first over 100 day. My last goal is to have at least 100 items listed. I'm at 76 now plan to be at 80 by tomorrow.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Hi All, I am new to the group and this is my first post!

My goals thought out for Sept.

- Get to 50 sales, I am at 31 now (opened this June)
- Reach 300 shop favorites, I am at 269
- Have 400 followers, at 299 now
- Get up to 100 products, at 83 now (sew, sew, sew!)
- Redo my pictures, they are too dark :-(
- Be patient, it takes time as well as motivation...:-)

Good luck and happy selling!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goals:

1 - Work on my pictures so my shop looks cohesive (I need to think of and find the perfect background... suggestions?) I'm not sure if this goal will ever be fully acheived - it seems to be an ongoing thing.

2 - Have 125 items listed by the end of September

3 - Have 50 sales by December 1st. I'm at 8 now, but I don't think that's a far-fetched goal.

4 - Recover my start up money by October 1st. Only $125 to go!

5 - Perfect my packaging. I've wrapped each sold item differently, but I think a more standard approach will make it quicker for me and will more likely result in repeat customers. I need to make them happy with pretty but simple "ready to gift" packaging.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I'm not setting goals for my shop just yet, because it is still new and I don't want to put pressure on myself and get let down. My goals right now are more personal:

1) Create and list as many listings as possible, to fill up my shop with a variety of different cards for different occasions and in different styles, so that shoppers have a lot to choose from.

2) Stay creatively fulfilled by finding a balance between what I love making and what people want to buy.

3) Make a practical selection of items for each of the upcoming holidays!

4) Stay positive!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Have at least 20things in stock at all times. Ultimate goal is 50.
Selling daily would be nice, but I'd settle at starting once a week. My audience is kind of specific and I think it will take time to reach my target audience

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Although I've been on etsy for quite some time, I treated it as a hobby. My goal is to treat it as a busniness.
My goals are:

*Become more involved in the etsy community
*Add at least 3 or 4 new items each week, if not more
*Run more sales and promotions
*Nail down how to better tag my items

Just to name a few!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I would love to average 3 sales a week. Last year Autumn was my busiest time so I'm hoping to maybe average 2 a week over the year.
My last goal was to reach 50 sales by August and I got to 69 by then!

Good luck to all of you.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

For me I am looking at this month. Just adding as many new pieces as possible.
I want to stock up not only for the holidays, but I want to be able to give my customer many options.
I want to promote as much as I can.
And if I can get a sale or two by the end of the year that would be awesome!!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goals are to
1. Make 10 sales a month by this year end.
2. Increase Etsian buyers and sellers' traffic -
10 clicks like my products and 5 clicks like by shop per month.

How to acheive my goals ? It's my challenge. Any advice???!!

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to have at least four sales this week! I opened my shop last month and got my first sale last week. I keep brainstorming creative ways to market my Etsy Business. I have my own website that leads people to purchasing on Etsy. I was pondering if I need to hire a model to showcase my knitwear items.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

Vicky and Elena the best advice I was given when I first started was to focus on what I could control...like adding inventory or adding comments to forums. That has made a difference for my sanity if anything else.

Also, join a team, which you've done.

Both your shops look great. The sales will come :-)

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

I would like to get to 100 listings...might be a while on that one, as all of my items are hand made and designed by me. I am trying to get more views and sales, but my main focus is to stock my shop before school starts because I wont have time to create new listings. Christmas is right around the corner, so I would like to make enough to buy myself something here on Etsy for Christmas.

Re: Did you set goals for your shop?

My goal is to get more sales!!! I also need to make more products to list which I'm working on. My ultimate goal is for my shop to be a good source of income for myself. I would also like to learn and know how to get more people to my site as I think this would increase sales.
