I thought a chat thread would be good for sharing just about everything as well as having a good old chit chat while we do so =)

At the moment I am eating cheese and crackers and then I plan to research the restrictions that were on women in the eighteenth century. I have an assignment due next Friday based on the visible and invisible walls in womens lives.

I made a sale last night which was good. Just need to make a few more to get me through this month until I get paid with my student loans. I accidentally ended up overdrawn on my bank account and now I've got to replenish it and get some money to live on.

My mum has very kindly offered to put a little bit of money in my account for me to tide me over so there's less pressure for me to sell stuff now. Would still love the sales though lol

Luna, hope you get a new car! Me and my family only have one car but it's a good one. Even so, it's still tough. We've through our fair share of car troubles.

I hope everyone starts bringing in some sales. The holidays are just around the corner. Are you all getting ready for it?

QUESTION:

When you list your items do you...

A) List one or two at a time as you go

B) Build an inventory and list a bunch all at the same time

C) Other

I'm just curious because I have about two items that I could list but I'm wondering if I should wait until I have more items.

I list them as I make them Bernadette. I hate having to sit there for hours doing a whole bunch as it can get pretty tedious, spreading them out seemed to help with traffic as well =)

I'm trying to get ready for the holiday season. As soon as October hits I'm planning on having a massive restock and adding a few more new items in both shops, since I'll have the money then.

You're right Luna, we haven't! She might be busy prepping to go back to uni though.

There is a CONSTANT flow of things being made in my house and consistent estate sale hunting.

My issue lies in listing... Taking pictures, Cleaning pictures up, measuring items, thinking up good titles and tags, and description...

Bleh... That's the Un-Fun part, so I procrastinate.

I currenty have about 50 or so hand-made items ready to list, and a few hundred vintage items (2 closets full and 2 tables in the garage)...

I'll have to take vacation from my full time job to catch up in Etsy land. o.o End of October is when I'll get a week to devote to it.

I just have to decide not to just watch TV or play video games. *Sigh*

Until then things just trickle on when I find spare time :/

Thank you Bernadette :-) I'm hoping to get one soon. I don't really want to sell mine because I'm really attached to it but I need one with power steering and stuff so I'm torn.

I tend to list as I go but I don't get much chance really so it ends up in bulk.

All I ever do is work in the garden, was baking and freezing winter squash this AM, working in the yard, trying to promote my stuff, running a mental health groups and highly sensitive persons group, keeping up with all my friends, FaceBook, Twitter - mainly promoting there - had 144 hits yesterday but takes time -

I'm only missing one of the key ingredients for the massage bars, so when I get some money and buy loads more supplies I'll get some of that. Also debating whether I'm using fragrance oils or essential oils for the bars cause its a leave on product, I'll have to check my safety assessment thing and see what it says for them

eta - I've also got a xmas sampler set that I'm doing, just need to make a couple more of the sample sized soaps to go in it

Look wonderful Carrie - September is a VERY busy month - canning, freezing, baking, pulling garden, doctor appointments - pickling, and more - separating iris - can't mention it all - so will be here as much as possible. Etsy is important to me.
