Views to Sales Conversion - Want to know yours?

Knowing how many views you need to make a sale can really help you to understand your business better and what is required by way of marketing.

For example, if you know that you need 30 views to make 1 sale, this is a high conversion rate and means that you don't need a whole load of traffic to achieve sales. It also means that you clearly have a product people want or need.

If on the other hand, you need 500 views to make 1 sale, this is a low conversion rate. This could mean that there are issues with your shop that need addressing like photography, pricing etc., that you are not selling something people want or need or simply that you have a high end market product.

Knowing this conversion rate can really help you and this is why I am offering to give you this for free. If you want to know what your conversion rate is, just post here and I will let you know in this thread.

Figures will be based on the entire duration your shop has been open.

@RighteousRecycling 1 to 24 - This is an extremely high conversion rate so you're doing something right. You need to understand that businesses do not continue upwards all of the time or even stay at the same level. There are always dips. If what you did worked before, then there is no reason why it will not work again. Do check that your items are still current, ie fit in with what people want and need. Also, consider that it is August and many people are on their holidays. It has also been a quiet month for me but I have come to expect this at this time of the year. Come September when the kids have gone back to school, you may find that things pick up again.

@ honeybeedesign20 - there will only be a variation in the figure if you have made more sales or had a large amount of extra views, changes to your shop will not affect this.

Some of you may have some discrepancies in the figures given. According to the stat tool developer, since Etsy made lots of changes, the stats have become less accurate.

He said that shops with less than 100 listings tend to be the most accurate but more than that is not as reliable.

He is working on a fix but it may take a while. Please therefore use these figures as a guide only.

The figures used are in fact your total LISTINGS views, not your shop views divided by your total sales.

The stat tool is currently not working and I have reported it.

To calculate your views to sales conversion rate, divide your total listings views with your total sales.
