Views to Sales Conversion - Want to know yours?

Knowing how many views you need to make a sale can really help you to understand your business better and what is required by way of marketing.

For example, if you know that you need 30 views to make 1 sale, this is a high conversion rate and means that you don't need a whole load of traffic to achieve sales. It also means that you clearly have a product people want or need.

If on the other hand, you need 500 views to make 1 sale, this is a low conversion rate. This could mean that there are issues with your shop that need addressing like photography, pricing etc., that you are not selling something people want or need or simply that you have a high end market product.

Knowing this conversion rate can really help you and this is why I am offering to give you this for free. If you want to know what your conversion rate is, just post here and I will let you know in this thread.

Figures will be based on the entire duration your shop has been open.

@Sweetlandarts1 to 20 - one of the highest conversion rates I've seen.

You are only getting on average 1 view per day, this is the problem with your store Sweetlandarts, you need to start being pro-active in driving traffic there.

Please also take out the sales blurb from your shop announcement, bit no-no for SEO - place it further down, not in the first line.

Dear Captain.....Does the conversion rate change depending on the number of items you have? Because I cut mine down to 8 and deactivated the other 90+.
And when I look at my stats....for the month they are usually about 1200 likes.

I am in 23 teams and I do bunches and bunches of treauries. I am active in comments. I twitter and I have a page on fb. I am on pinterest and Kaboodle and very active in both. I do BNS and BNR....both as buyer, seller, and cheerleader, chatter person. I add new items on a regular basis and I use many different sizes and prices. I sell art, photographs and bookmarks.

I have had, I think it is five items on Etsy Lush. I had a few in the Christmas book...the two for free and two more, again, I think, that I paid to have there. I am on several other internet groups, and I am very active.

Maybe my products just rot.

@Sweetlandarts If we look at the stats, you get 1 view per day on average. This means that the person that lands in your shop or on an item is not looking through your store at other items. That could be because of what you're selling.

Saying this, you are only getting 1 view per day. This tells me that whatever marketing you are doing, it is not working. You need to reconsider all that you do. I am probably less active than you in the way of marketing and I get over 500 views every day. I personally am totally against BNR and BNS treasuries, they do not achieve 'real' sales and just give false figures.

Only having 8 items in your store is a problem and I don't know why you've de-activated over 90 items. If you do not give people choices, then many people will have to visit before you are lucky enough to find someone who likes your items enough to purchase. Think of people going through a supermarket door, they will come out having bought something because there is something on offer for everyone.

Checking through your sales, your apple ACEO for example sold well but I no longer see that in your shop. Perhaps you should reconsider offering your best sellers back for sale.

Please also remove anything relating to having a sale of free shipping from the first 2 lines of your shop announcement. This is seriously going to hinder your SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The first couple of lines should only contain key words relating to your products and shop.
