I am the team captain, Amelia Thompson. I LOVE Tolkien and Star Wars, with lots and lots of video games under my belt!

Good Morning all, thanks for the invitation to join this team, that was very cool of you!

I'm a "mature" guy who has been into vintage type home furnishings, vehicles and clothing for many, many years because bottom line, I find items with a history, a past as it were, to be interesting! On a practical side, being a single guy trying hard to maintain his financial independence and stability, I learned long ago that generally vintage items are not just conversational, they're more affordable then many newer, current items that can't match the charm and mystique of a vintage treasure!

Friends and family have asked me through the years if I pick up any "vibes" from my new to me home furnishings and wardrobe attire. If I have they've generally all been positive and the unanimous description of my bachelors pad is "I feel very at home and comfortable here", that speaks volumes doesn't it?

As far as my vintage attire I find it fascinating to wear a shirt, jacket, suit, cufflinks, etc. that belonged to someone else years ago! I think to myself where did they purchase and for what purpose,what were they like, things like that! I was involved in corporate sales types jobs for a number of years and discovered that mixing and matching my vintage items with my more current purchase proved to be a positive conversation starter with co-workers and clients!

I'm hoping that the folks that ultimately select my items for purchase will enjoy them as much as I did through the years, they're fun.

In addition to my ETSY shop I work as a sales representative at a local, family owned and operated jewelry store, a part time ACE certified personal trainer at my local YMCA and enjoying hanging out with my family, friends and long time life partner of twenty six years (who enjoys vintage as much as I do!).

I guess someone found me trolling the forums the other day while I was in a fit of boredom (I really miss the old etsy forums. But I digress.), and I got the invite for this team.

I have 3 etsy shops, knitting vintage and sewing, but I tend to hang out in my knitting shop the most often. So here I am.

I teach high school chemistry, live in Florida, eat a lot of goat cheese, am a cancer survivor, and have 3 cats. Everything in my life is orange. And I just went and bought myself Easter candy from the drug store, because, mini eggs.

I am from Florida so a good chunk of what I make still have the Florida girl in it:) I love and miss the beach but am going home for a much needed vaca at the end of this month!

Hello everyone
My name is Carrie and I am vintage hahahaha
I have this shop and a handmade shop on etsy
I was married for a long long time and now am not thankfully!
Starting life over in my late 40's was not something I planned but it has been invigorating!
The vintage and supply shop was just a little place to destash some of my extra stuff but then my mom had to move in and she told the doctor that what would make her happy for what was left of her days was to go to rummage sales and thrift shops so.......
I took her as much as she was physically able and ended up expanding this shop because of it
It has been a huge blessing and success
My mom always encouraged me in everything I did and I miss her so much

After mom passed, she was the last parent we had left as our dad died in 2009 and our step dad in 2010 and then mom in 2011, I decided that I needed to finish things I had started years ago
I was in a bad marriage for a long time and having my mom here with me during her final time gave me strength and courage
So I took my butt back to school and 18 years late it may be but I finally have my High School diploma
I think my parents would be proud of me for that
Now I will be taking some collage courses in the summer

I have 2 furbabies and am dog sitting for my sons big ole lab right now
I have 2 adorable Grandsons who fill my heart with joy
I have 3 son's and they are good boys, 2 still live at home, 1 always will
I have a man in my life that is my best friend and always there for me and he gives me courage to do things I never thought I would be able to do along with my BFF of over 20 years
Without the 2 of them I never would have survived all that I have

So I still go thrifting and sale-ling and have a ton more to list in my shops and I love to crochet and sew for my other shop

I have learned to have fun and be happy no matter what!

Thanks for the invite! I love reading these, they're like mini-autobiographies. I'm Erin & I live in Northampton, MA. I like to read foreign novels & all kinds of nonfiction, including biographies ;) watch movies, especially independent/foreign, I'm a big fan of modern dance, I love cats and have one who is of course the best cat ever, and do a lot of yoga.

I started making jewelry a few years ago & was excited to open my etsy shop, which is all earrings. I like to experiment when I make things. Right now I'm trying to branch out in terms of my style. I'm hoping to find my jewelry "voice," but I know it takes time.

Oh, and I have a neighbor who's pretty weird but he doesn't seem to know it! His voice is very loud & it carries. I don't know much about him, but he makes soap & his house is identical to mine but has been renovated really nicely, which makes me jealous.

Thank you very much for the invitation, came just in time,because I had promised myself not to look at my shop today, looking at this new page makes me sad.

About me there is a lot that I have already told in the "About' pages of my store.
But a lot is not there. If you read them you can ask the question how does someone from Belgium ends up in Austin Tx. I have been writing and telling about this, but as much as people told me to do, it never came to a book, because my stories never end.

The thing is that for several years I was dreaming to leave Belgium, selling our clothing stores and live more south in a sunny country like the south of France or Spain. Finally the day came that we were free.
We had planned a trip to Toronto to see how live was, when the youngest of our two boys died in an car accident. Suddenly there was only That, without any future, the dreams were broken, smashed, there was only emptiness and a horrible pain.
I wanted to cancel the flied that was ten days later but our oldest sun said we had to go.
There was no question, we liked Toronto and the Canadian people.
Back home we did our application and three months later we arrived in Toronto with a passport as landed immigrants.

Now, my english is what it is, I learned myself. There may be things that I should say different, but I am still thinking in flemish, actual the dialect from my hometown. I speak also dutch, french and know my way in Mexican spanish.

I hope to start writing in one of my blogs again and this time in english.

Maybe I meet you there.

I'm Caroline and I'm from a small town on the east coast of Sweden called Nyköping.

I love sewing! But other than that I also love gardening, sailing, baking and fishing. In the winter I love to ski also but it hasn't been that much skiing this winter. We had almost no snow :(

I have some really beautiful guppies. Not that fun pet I know but they never argue with me and loves me when I give them food :) And if I'm stressed I always get calmed down by looking at them.

Right now I can't wait for the spring to kick off so I can plant my carrot seeds at my summerhouse! :D

I live in Bozeman, MT, have for 23 years, but am originally a Virginia girl, 10th generation, in fact. I brought my Southern cooking and history loves out here and now I'm a blend of west and east!

When I'm not making jewelry, I'm playing my violin or with my grandchildren. I like to travel with my husband and take pictures of our beautiful mountain landscape. After all, this is the Treasure State, home of the Big Sky! Though I love our beauty, I'm officially over the snow and cold and am so ready for summer! (I know, this is Montana and winters are cold. You'd think I'd be accustomed, but winters just go on and on in these parts!) :)

Well, this is nice...friends all over the globe!

I live in Shelly Beach, south of Durban in South Africa. Magnificent weather all year round here. (Sorry everyone who has been experiencing extremes).

Our neighbours are into their animals in a big way. On the one side we have bantams and on the other there is a pot bellied pig named Bridget.

My children are grown up and living in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

We walk along the beach front every morning at sunrise - 4kms. Then the day may begin.

I like all sorts of things that involve making things yourself! drawing is a huge thing that I do all the time, reading too I love to read!! Huge fan of movies like Star Wars, The hobbit, lord of the rings, Batman, and any scary movies (love watching those)!!! MUSIC I won't live with out it I am always listening to it I like bands like the arctic monkey, the kooks, Rolling Stones, the pixies, mgmt, acdc, iron maiden, the strokes, and many more haha! Oh I also love rap! Eazy-e, Eminem, NWA, the game and sooo many more too haha!

Hello everyone. My name is Gerrie, I live in beautiful sunny Fl. I am semi-retired - still working 2 days a week. I live with Piper, a yellow lab mix from a local shelter.
We make a good pair, she loves the beach as much as I do. They opened a new dog beach down in Venice and as soon as the "snow birds" leave we will check it out.

I like cooking and have started using different spices and herbs. Who said you can't teach an old lady new tricks!!!

Thanks for the invite. I'm Erin and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. No, I don't have horns and I am not Mormon. Yes, I have had a LOT of people ask me those two questions. :)

I am a SAHM to two step-daughters and a biological son. My husband and I have had custody of my daughters since they were 4 and 5, so I really just consider them my daughters. Their biological mother, she's one of the things I don't really like in life. She's crazy. I mention it because you might see me chat about that once in a while when things get crazy. It's cyclical.

One other thing that drives me crazy is people who speed down my street. I say that because someone just did. Ugh.

Things that I like. I love my flower garden. It's starting to bloom (too early but what can you do) and it gives me so much inspiration to look out my windows when I'm working to see the blazing colors that bloom through the warm months. I really love my veggie garden as well and am looking forward to getting my plants going this year. My incredible husband is designing a new raised garden bed for me, so I'm super excited. Even though I love all those things, my favorite time of year is winter. I really do not like it when the heat gets above 70, but my husband won't move to Alaska.

I love to cook! Share recipes if you have anything good. I like to cook everything from scratch. I love having dinner parties and having everyone enjoy a delicious home cooked meal.

Ok, this is getting long. I'm going to try and make an effort to participate in this group. I'm terrible at keeping up on threads in the forums, my FB account and email, so if I don't reply for a while it isn't because I'm ignoring anyone. It probably just means I forgot to look. Ha!

Hello, my name is RaeAnn. I love to crochet in my spare time and after a long day at work, it relaxes me. I also enjoying hanging out with my boyfriend of two and a half years and his 16 year old daughter. I am excited to start planning future nuptials with this great man. He supports me greatly with my Etsy shop. I am sure once I started getting a lot of orders, he will be in the office with me packing things for my customers. I enjoy listening to Christian Contemporary music and watching movies. I also enjoy spend time with my family and friends and reading.
