Happy Old Stuff Day!

Hey guys! How is your Sunday going so far?

Today is a great day to celebrate vintage and reminisce about days long past!

What is your favourite memory? Or, what is your favourite possession of the past? :D

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Re: Happy Old Stuff Day!

My favorite memory is probably most of my childhood. Simple things, such as going outside and playing with my friends, and many other things. They are such carefree days, and that's one of the things I miss the most :/ Gosh I sound so old...lol. I'm only 24 and almost every day I think about it. Being an adult stinks sometimes with all the more serious responsibilities :(

My favorite possession of the past would HAVE to be all the TY Beanie Babies I used to collect. I started collecting them when they were insanely popular in the 90's and collected over 200 of them (which I still have, but they are stored away in the shed).

@Jess - I LOVE Beanie Babies! I want to start collecting them again! My favourites were a pug and a beagle! X3 Thankfully, a good portion of them are still at inexpensive prices. I'm not a high-end collector, I just love to have them (hence why when I get any action figure, I take them out of the plastic. They are mine FOREVER)!

Re: Happy Old Stuff Day!

They're great! Lol, and I think I have the pug and beagle one xD We sell TY "Beanie Boos" at the store I work at and I get SO tempted to buy some..lol. I have the pug Beanie Boo named Pugsley :P
I also have a few of them from my collection adorning parts of my apartment, though a majority are stored away..just don't have the room for them :(

It's funny because back then, everyone thought they were going to be worth BIG money one day. But the truth is, they're still relatively cheap, with the exception of some of the rarer ones like the royal blue elephant, Peanut xD

I collect video game figures too :P

Re: Happy Old Stuff Day!

I remember a lot of people talking about them being worth a great deal at one point. But no, they're still relatively inexpensive, even for the ones from the 90s. Lol

Most of my figurines are from video games, including the entire Delta Squad from Gears of War, Sagat from Street Fighter, and a Little Sister & Big Sister from Bioshock 2. :D

Re: Happy Old Stuff Day!

My fave childhood toy from the 60's was something called "Incredible Edibles". It was an oven, shaped like a face. The oven "handle" was the nose. You lifted it up and put in these round trays that were filled with edible goo (kind of like gummies?). You could make all kinds of shapes...insects and such, and the flavors were rootbeer, licorice, fruit, etc.

When I ran out of the flavor tubes, my dad took me to the store to get refills and I learned that the toy had been discontinued. I. Was. So. Sad.

Now those toys sell for well over $100 on eBay.
