Each day, I or a guest poster will aim to post one teeny tip you can do to improve your SEO or Page Rank. I'm hoping this will become a great resource for new members to the team :-)
I just started reading this thread today and wish that I would have started at day one! I like taking this step by step and I am going to try too catch up with everyone. I have one big order, 7 spa wraps, I have to produce for a wedding party but will be taking breaks and trying to do a step at a time.
Anyone wanting to take a look at my shop and give advice feel free.
Oh my! I just realized one of my first listed and top viewed items www.etsy.com/listing/66854045/pink-girly-boa-feather-wreath did not have a backlink to my shop! Just imagine how many shoppers I have missed drawing into look at other items.
I have also updated some Section Titles. Hope this helps.
Just found and read all of the tips - so far - as I am furstrated with my lack of new visitors. Thank you twinkly for all of your tips and info. I have tweaked some of my listing titles (for my felted purses) and will continue to make changes one section at a time until all are completed, hopefully midweek. I will keep an eye on google analytics to see if my search engine numbers go up.
Thanks for all the good info, I will be checking daily. Next stumbling block is a blog. Don't know why I am so intimidated by this :(
Somewhere in Twinkly's tips, she mentions getting a firefox Google Search. This tells you when your shop or page was last crawled over by Google. It looks like it is about a two week lag for your SEO changes to be noticed.
faithnhope: I will follow your blog! I'm also planning a post on mine with a list of everyones new blogs that are springing up.
theflowerfairyshop: post in the shop specific advice thread for a full review, I am super behind but should be caught up by the end of the week. Don't panic about being 'behind' there are new people joining all the time who are starting from the beginning. You can also convo me if you have a question x
maddyandme: putting your life out there for people to see is hard. So is striking the right balance between craft-based posts and real life. Set yourself a little taregt like, 4 posts a week about Etsy/things you have found/diy's or link lists and one about what you have been doing all week. I wouldn't go into personal details anyway x
TheSpeeceCollection - The Pagerank toolbar, yes! that's a good idea! It actually works on IE aswell, not just firefox :-)
faith - thank you so much! It looks beautiful there. When I start my blog I will reciprocate :) I think I am putting blog creation on the docket for the end of March. First must get my shop cleaned up and heading towards spring ! Thanks again.
I hope it's okay to post ithis here and if not - please point me the right way! I just tried tip #1 (Link all listings back to your main shop page). Can someone please tell me if I did it correctly?
Just read this! It's something I've seen on items, but for some reason - I never thought to add it to my own listings. Silly me! Thanks for the tip. AWEsome!
