Specifically addressing the whimsical dog you posted--it is just adorable! It could work in a child's nursery or anywhere in your home. Your sense of rhythm and line creates an entertaining and fun visual experience.
While I paint in a semi realistic style, your work makes me want run out to my studio, grab my brushes and branch out into whimsy!! Keep up the great work, and you should be very proud of your creations!
