New Sales and Coupons tools to help you grow your business.

Running sales and offering coupons can create loyal customers and encourage repeat business. Today, we’re launching new tools that let you easily run and manage sales and coupon offers for your Etsy shop.

With these new tools, you’ll be able to schedule sales in advance, set order minimums, and create coupon codes right from your shop. We’ll also give you detailed stats about how your sales and coupons perform so you can make informed decisions about future offers, all in the new Sales and Coupons dashboard.

Here’s how we plan to make these new features available:

August 1 - Access new tools: You can preview the new Sales and Coupons tools in the Marketing section of your Shop Manager, where you can schedule a promotion to begin as early as August 8. If you’re currently running coupon codes in your shop, those will remain active and appear in your Sales and Coupons dashboard.

August 8 - Preview the new experience: You’ll be able to start running sales and coupons promotions in your shop. Any seller who runs a promotion with the new Sales and Coupons tool will get a special preview of the new shopping experience before we make it visible to all buyers. That early access will allow you to explore new search filters and see updates to listing cards and listing pages for items that are on sale. We’ll also start to introduce these new features to a small number of shoppers as we gradually make them available to everyone.

August 22 - Buyers can shop promotions on Etsy: All shoppers will be able to browse and shop promotions on Etsy through new search filters and updates to the listing page.

UPDATE:

Apologies for any inconvenience here. We’re working on a few things now that
should help address some of your concerns:

1. Adding data for old coupons (not just the active ones) to the new dashboard.
2. Making it possible to see the details for a sale or coupon from the dashboard once you've created it.

We hope to have these available for you soon - we appreciate your patience in the meantime!

We've also been getting a lot of questions around if you can apply a sale to specific listings. You can do this after you create a start, end date, name your sale or coupon and then tap on "Continue."

Lastly there are some feature requests that aren't yet available, but we will take this feedback seriously and consider it for future releases. 1) The ability to edit a sale or coupon after it's been created 2) The ability to extend or activate a promotion after it's ended.

8/3 UPDATE:

Greetings Etsy sellers!

1. We are still working on getting old coupon data back onto the new sales and coupons dashboard. I'll update on this thread as soon as it's available.

2. We have just rolled out an update to the dashboard so that you can see the details of your sales and coupons after you've created the sale or coupon.

8/7 UPDATE:

Hope everyone's had a good start of the week! One clarification today, and one update.

1. We're still in the middle of resurfacing all old coupons and coupon performance data. We've updated your dashboards with active coupons that were created in the last few months, but you don't yet have expired, deactivated, or old coupons created for all time.

2. Starting tomorrow (the exact time is still TBD), August 8th, there will be full access to sellers who have created a discount with the new tool to see what it will look like for a listing to be on sale. You should see the crossed off type features applied similar to what Etsy on Sale provided, but with more of an Etsy design. It's hard to describe, so the best thing is to create a sale with the new tool and just see it tmrw :) As a seller who's created a sale, you will be able to see your own listings that are on sale as well as other sellers' listings who have items on sale. And you can purchase from them too!

On August 8th, tomorrow, not 100% of buyers will be able to see your sale price, just some. On August 22nd, we are releasing this feature to 100% of buyers.

Please continue surfacing your questions, and we'll try to answer them as fast and as well as we can.

Hi folks - wanted to update everyone on the preview status! Sellers who create promotions with the new tool will start seeing the shopping experience on Etsy later today. We greatly appreciate all the patience and eagerness to test out the tool - sit tight a little longer! We'll update this post later today once the shopping experience is available to sellers who have created sales.

Hi Folks,

Wanted to provide another update on the seller preview period.

We need another day to do some additional testing, and so to ensure the highest quality preview experience, we are delaying the start of the seller preview period until tomorrow, August 9.

From there, we will begin to gradually make sales available shoppers on Etsy, and are still on track to make sales available to shoppers across Etsy on August 22.

We appreciate your patience and eagerness to explore the new sales tools, and thank you for all the feedback and discussion you've provided so far!

8/9 UPDATE

Hey sellers!

So sorry about the delays yesterday. All sellers who have created a promotion with the new tools should now be able to see what a sale looks like on Etsy (including in search results and in your shop). We’ll be slowly making sales available to shoppers on etsy starting today, and are on track to have sales available to all shoppers on 8/22.
