Receiving Feedback

I bought a few things to get some feedback built up, but the sellers aren't leaving feedback. I paid at the time of sale. Is it like Ebay where sellers don't leave feedback until they see that you've left them positive feedback?

As a seller, I will wait to leave feedback until I hear from the person who bought it. That way I know that everything was ok, nothing got broken, sell is complete.
As a buyer, I leave feedback as soon as I get the item. It's easier than sending an email and that way they know everything is done with the sale.

I have bought from two different sellers, and the first one left me feedback before I left her feedback, but the other waited until I did it first, so I think it is just a personal preference sort of thing. Each seller is different. Good luck getting the positive feedback!

I've purchased 2 items and sold 11. I only have two total feedbacks (and one is from a family member who purchased from me). I'm hoping that I get more positive feedback soon.

Not very many of my buyers have left me feedback either. As a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I receive the item. As a seller I leave feedback when I ship their purchase. I think sometimes it's just forgotten about too.

I haven't had any feed back between five sales so I'm in the same boat as a seller. But I like to add feedback to my buyer to let them know that I'm interested in theirs.

I usually do exactly what heatheregley does. As a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I receive the item. As a seller I usually leave feedback as soon as I've shipped an item.

I wish others would do the same. Well, at least as a buyer. I like knowing that an item was received and there was nothing wrong with the product. Unfortunately many of my sales have been from people with brand new Etsy accounts who probably just created one to purchase that one item... To try to help fix this I've added a sentence to my Note to Buyer about leaving feedback and I'll do the same for them. Note sure it will help any, but I can't think of anything else to do...

I try to leave my +FB as a buyer ASAP on ebay, but sometimes forget, especially over a busy time like the holidays. It is not above me to write a polite reminder to the seller telling them I have am pleased with item I purchased & point out I have already left them a +FB & ask them to do the same? But on Etsy seems like a lot of contact is considered SPAM & a no-no? The big-big sellers don't have time for correspondence? So I guess it is a waiting game-good luck!

I include a thank you note with my shipments, and in the note, I started saying "we appreciate your feedback" and things of that nature. I have 1 feedback out of 6 sales, but I hope that including the friendly reminder in the shipment will help up that number!

I had 14 sales and 3 purchases with only 1 feedback. I ended up convo-ing all the folks and saying something like..."You recently purhcased something from AlphaDogPhoto. We hope you were satisfied with our product and service. If so, please make sure to leave feedback the next time you're on Etsy. If not, please cotact us so we can work out any problems..." I ended up getting 10 feedbacks the next day!
