I think they work for exposure, the best way is to start creating your own treasuries, you can choose items from members of the teams you are in. When you create treasuries do not include your own items, help other people promote their work.
I always send a convo to the people whose items I include, then they visit and help me promote the treasury. Sometimes they visit my shop and if they like my work it's possible they include it in their next treasuries.
