Am I too impatient?

I'm relatively new here (opened in august) and got three sales to date (two from a co-worker, which doesn't "really" count...).
I do facebook, I post new listings very often, do treasuries, am in many circles, comment on the forum and on treasuries....

My goal for september was to have 1 sale. Check.
My goal for october was to have 2....right now, I have none.

Am I just really being impatient or is there some things you guys could tell me that could help?

I am right now looking at my titles and tags, to make the most out of it. It's long but I know it's important.

It,s just hard to believe that I will have a spur of sales on Christmas or even that I will last that long, although I love it!

Just need to keep patient...

Re: Am I too impatient?

Christina, your shop is gorgeous!

I've been on Etsy for a year and it took me a while to get the correct mindset lol

I have another shop http://www.thiswayupgraphics.etsy.com that used to be my art shop but my digital graphics took off. As soon as I concentrated on what people needed, not just wanted, things got better.

I'm not sure why you are not having any sales. Can be a number of things. Your items are beautiful, it just takes time for things to develop. Three sales is good, even if two are from someone you know. That's okay!

Don't be so hard on yourself and don't forget to have fun! I don't know anything about selling jewelry, but just keep listing and promoting. In my other shop, I list at least three times a day...morning, afternoon and evening. It works :)

Good luck!

Re: Am I too impatient?

Hey Christina,
You do need to be patient.
Your doing great. We waited 2 months before our first sale.
Everyone is in panic mode, but it will pass.
Just keep doing what your doing, (as we are) the holidays are upon us,
things will pick up soon.

Re: Am I too impatient?

Keep patient! Your shop looks beautiful and your determination will persevere. If I could make one suggestion is that I never see a picture of your item in full view and some of the pictures (while beautiful) are hard to comprehend.

Take for instance:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/79965682/wire-wrapped-necklace-gemstones-crystals

Picture one and two are beautiful, but three, four, and five do a better job of selling the necklace.

Also there is that disclaimer -
Please note that as this item is re-listed when sold, you won't receive the exact same necklace pictured here.

Which, thank you for the disclaimer, but is it that much more work to take pictures and have the item shown as is. It could be a turn off to potential viewers.

Otherwise, tags, titles, everything seems very good.

I wish you the best :) Also - do not underestimate the power of people you know. I have 73 sales (I've been opened since June of this year). At first my friend's started buying, slowly and sure I would say they've made up maybe 20 of my sales. That's great. I also put my business card everywhere. Restaurants, art shows, community center boards - last night to the nice lady at local art store. Good luck - keep working at it, your sales will push through :)

Re: Am I too impatient?

Wow! Thanks for the picker-upper, guys! I guess I answered my own question - I AM impatient!

As I see that I spend so much time on the computer and less and less time creating, it makes it hard for me to see myself doing this in the long run. But I also know that in the beginning, it's normal.

I just hope Christmas will bring a couple of sales in.

@Daniel: I understand what you are saying about the pictures. Sometimes, I need to think that I'm not putting pictures to go on the FP or in treasuries, I'm putting up pictures to please a customer and make him click. While picture-taking is THE most important thing, I must remember who I'm talking to.

As for the disclaimer, I just need a way to tell the customer that this item is made to order so the little wood imperfection that makes one bead beautiful in the picture may not be there when he'll receives his.
