I'm new - please help!

I'm very, very new to selling on Etsy. I've had an account for years, but I only made one in the first place to buy from a friend, and haven't used it again until recently. I love, love, love it here. I love crafting and can't wait to expand my shop.
After being here for a bit, I realize that to succeed, I NEED to expand my circle, and network with tons of people. I don't have the sales yet to speak for themselves, so I just need to be seen.
I'm looking for help - and I'm willing to return the favor. Please, if you'd include me in your circle and help me out, just let me know what I can do for you. I don't know all the tricks yet, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Laura, I just joined etsy and started posting items a few days ago. I am no expert, but I belong to an on-line business group and they stressed the importance of having a good profile page so people can get to know you as a person when they visit your shop. I haven't yet, but I know it is important to look around etsy and favour shops, get added to circles. I do love your cards. I'll add you to my circle and hope for your success.

2 suggestions:
1.) Fill out a welcome to my shop in your shop announcement at the top of the page.
2.) Fill out your policies page.
in case you don't know how to do that:
Go to your Shop
Click on Info & Appearance
Next to selections click on policies.

Hi Jen,
Welcome to selling on Etsy. You may want to check out SaSSy Critique team http://www.etsy.com/teams/7702/sassy-critiques. They have a great blog and self critique page that would really help you get all the particulars you need for a successful shop. Once you do all they suggest, then you could have a critique done by them, all very helpful. Good luck.

I feel like we have a lot in common. I got on Etsy almost a year ago and I sold a few things, but then I sold my house and that was such an event that I took a break from Etsy. Now I'm back and I feel just like you, that I need to get my name and my shop noticed and I'm just not sure how.. Like you, I need to be seen. I watch my shop stats and it's hard when hardly anyone is even viewing my listings.. I will gladly add you to my circle and my favorite shops, anything I can do to help because I'm in the same boat! And if you come up with any ideas or get any good advice just pass it along to me please!! :)

A few things I've been doing:
- I have a lot of items already made, but I am only listing a few a day, hoping that they will get noticed in the "recent" listed items at the bottom of the home page. Someone else may have a better idea..
- I scroll through the recently listed items and favorite the ones I really like, hoping those shop owners will return the favor.. I know I would!
- I plan to start making more treasuries, in hopes to make new Etsy friends, as well as hope they will include my items in their future treasuries..
These are just a few ideas but others may have better ideas as well, please let me know what you find out!! Best of luck!!
