help w/ fixing a soldering mistake

I just finished a lovely piece, or so I thought. One of the elements on the piece was not soldered on completely. Unfortunately the stones have already been set. Is there some sort of glue that I can use to join metal to metal? I just tried epoxy. If all else fails I suppose I can try a rivet.

Unfortunately there's no nice answer.

Epoxy isn't really suitable for metal to metal. Is it an element that could be removed completely and still leave something useful?

A rivet, hidden or decorative, could be a good solution short of removing the stones.

Sorry. It's something I'll bet everyone's been through, the 'oh no!' moment.

I ended up taking the element off. Lesson learned...

Re: help w/ fixing a soldering mistake

I recently did this to an earring set that I had already photographed and LISTED IN MY SHOP...it's still there, in fact, missing one of its' little balls...my MOM noticed it (I never did until she pointed it out) and I had to unset the stone and resolder the ball. Now I just have to re-take the pics, which I haven't yet. With as many hearts as the item is getting, I bet I sell the earrings as soon as the new pics are up! LOL!

It sucks, but sometimes it's necessary...and you'll get really good at tugging on all of those pieces (with GOOD force) before setting stones! :)
