I spent all day yesterday taking M to oral surgeon and dentist. This implant business is turning into a nightmare, M is miserable and we can't seem to get things to go right.

Kit - I think those commercial claims about walking out in a day with new teeth is more than a little false advertising. Let’s just say anyone I know that got implants walked out with their new teeth in a day a year from the first of many appointments.

They had a big article in our local paper about Aretha. Apparently before she hit the big time she would vacation in Cocoa Beach and sing in a popular dingy bar where all the astronauts hung out.

Believe me, Pennee. This was no one-day special. It's been going on for about 5 months now.
So sad about Aretha. She was amazing, and one of my favorites. I'm a huge jazz fan and she was one of the best.

She really was, Kit. I loved her. Such a strong, independent spirit. She will so truly be missed.

It's turned off hot and steamy after a pleasant, rainy morning. I just want to curl up, sip on a glass of wine, and read a good book or take a good nap.

I have had 2 different dentists try to convince me to do implants. Everyone I know that has them done said it was painful as hell and plus costs a fortune. Most Dental insurance doesn't cover it. No thanks, I got a bridge Instead. If it was a front tooth i may have considered it but it wasn't in a smile visible place

Unfortunately, he had nothing to hook a bridge to. He's always said he spent more money on his teeth than he spent sending 3 kids though college.

No rain in sight. Most of the province is under the same dome of trapped smoke. Not a lot of fun.

Now it's smoky with frost, 31F. The novelty is wearing off...

CG - as I walked out this morning there was the scent of a distant forest fire. No smoke to be seen. I cannot imagine day after day of that heavy smoke. The light smell we have today also started reminds me of the first cold night where people have their fireplaces going for the first time here.

CG, so sorry about your situation. Is there any relief in sight?
Our weather Is hot, but we get occasional relief with a shower and a cool day. No 100+ days this week.

Apparently no huge weather change for a couple of weeks. Lots of company, it's most of BC and now the smoke is into Alberta and Saskatchewan too.

The actual fires are bad enough and all over the province but not as bad as this year in California.

CG, I keep praying for relief for your area. My heart breaks especially for California. We have to deal with the fire danger during late winter/early spring...I just can't imagine the magnitude of what is going on in the West.

It's cool and rainy here today. I'm probably going to skip the barn today. I had a fantastic ride on Millie yesterday. Best ride I've had in over a year! It gave me some hope that we can possible reclaim some of her fitness. Her attitude was greatly improved...like she turned a corner. Miss Hope is going great as well! Her training is really coming along, and I'm hoping to start riding her more regularly next month. My heart is very happy!

We've bern in Tennessee the last several days. Back home now. The AC on the van went out the day we got there. O.o Everything else held together and we got home after splitting the trip up over two days.
