Re: Winding into August Chat

It's a glorious 89F here! Low humidity and it finally feels normal and liveable! I'm looking forward to enjoying it later this evening with my running group.

Just gave my feedback in bugs about the notifications...and asked how to remove them. It's very annoying.

Re: Winding into August Chat

Oh, Terri they were going to change to the take it out as you go thing at the same time as the fee change (July 16), but then pulled that back. I think they realized there were to many accounting problems with that idea, and are rethinking it 🤷🏻‍♀️ There was an announcement about the decision to not launch that a while back. https://www.etsy.com/teams/7716/announcements/discuss/18748472/

Re: Winding into August Chat

Good afternoon.

It is not raining, so my head decided to rebel, and I now have a snotty headache that makes me sick when I move.

Yay.

Re: Winding into August Chat

I had permanent plugs put in my tear ducks in the lower inside corner of my eyes to help my dry eyes. I always thought that's where the tears came out but its where they drain into your sinuses.

Other than that, I sold one cab within minutes of listing it and made some headway getting a few others listed. Many more to go. I think I need to make something, so I don't lose skills.

Re: Winding into August Chat

well call me confused. The link Jen posted I read and seems to be the one about the plan of taking your money out of your sales and not giving you a choice how to pay your bill. Are they taking the 5% for postage or no? I looked at my bill and they sure didn't break it out if they are

Re: Winding into August Chat

No Pennee, read it again.
It says they aren’t making the changes to bill pay like they said they would. They will do it at a later date. To be announced.

Re: Winding into August Chat

But they are charging the increased fees of 5% and shipping IS included in what they charge fees on. That part started July 16.

Re: Winding into August Chat

Yes, the fee increase, and shipping fees happened July 16. You can see it in your fees, it comes up as “shipping transaction” and it has an orange star by it.
Goto finances
Your bill
Then click on the month of July (if you don’t already have a sale in August to look at)

Happy birthday Kit!

Happy to be home. Too hot and too many mosquitos, wasps and horseflies at the summer house.

Happy birthday to Kit! Pass the cake this way!

Today is full of need-to-be-done errands. I've put it all off long enough. When you run out of toilet paper, then its time to go to Walmart.

Re: Winding into August Chat

Pennee, If you’re still using godaddy bookkeeping you can separate the shipping transaction fee there, and see it as a monthly sum, if that’s what y0ure looking for.

Re: Winding into August Chat

yes I am Jen and I figured that but not everyone does and this is a business- they should imho be giving us line items in that summary- at a glance you should see what your costs are for the month.
I was on the forums and saw so many posting about how they are losing so much money with 5% on postage- really, why not just raise your prices a little? I had to do that on Amazon and have not had a single issue with customers buying the same thing I sell on Etsy for 15% more to cover my fees there. They even tell you to do that if you offer free shipping or seller fulfilled prime- so I do

Re: Winding into August Chat

Back home. Two yards almost mowed. It started raining in the middle of FIL's yard, so we had to quit. When his yard gets wet, it's impossible to mow it - the blades get bunched up.

Happy birthday to Kit! BTW, I loved those short styles you were saving on Pinterest. I have no desire to go back to short hair right now, but I loved those.

I'm trying to chill for a few minutes. I have barely had time to make new jewelry this summer. A few new pieces, but not like I was hoping to do.

Re: Winding into August Chat

I still try to avoid sales unless I really need to get rid of stuff. I figure if you price fairly eventually it will sell. It just needs the right buyer to love it and want to give it a home. I am now doing absolutely nothing to promote my shop or making anything new and I still get sales. Less for sure, but until my surgery is done I just don't want to deal with convos, resize, customs etc. Perfectly happy to just skate along
