I'm here, for a minute. Didn't sleep too well. It was too warm and I had a garlic hangover. Now it's noon and I have done nothing.

Good morning. Garlic hangover?? I woke up with a bit of a headache, not from garlic though. We had dinner group last night and as usual I over indulged in the grape. It's so easy to do when you sit at a table for a long dinner chatting with friends. It was a delicious dinner though.

I guess I'm the only one who suffers from garlic hangovers when eating too much garlic that hasn't been cooked through. We made garlic bread yesterday and the grill didn't take the edge off all of the garlic.

It feels like a hangover because I get thirsty and I sleep badly and can even feel a little queasy (not this time, phew!).

I'm curious though. about using CA on olive wood? I've another piece that's ready for finish. was just going to use teak oil on it. i don't trust a CA finish on that for some reason. but a high polish would be nice.

Hi all!
I will never catch up... Sounds like Ann and Sue had fun at SOFA. I want to see the earrings! And all the rest of the loot!
I missed the Contemporary jewelry show (... I had planned to go yesterday and combine the show with our local ga goldsmiths group meeting but at the last minute I decided that I should stay at the house and oversee some furniture moving. Some of my favorite jewelry artist are invited to this show. Oh well...

Calming down after tossing the assembly instructions for all the chimney mounting bits. Common sense was enough. Thought I'd be a boy scout and follow the instructions. Waste of time trying to interpret fuzzy language, bad diagrams, and forgotten stuff.

Probably more than any David Lynch film, this one defies any attempts at 'connect the dots' viewing.

The film works as a mirror to the 20th cen person (did this happen, or did I see it on TV? From where did I adopt my values? Something I saw on tv? Gilligan's Island?) and moving into the 21st cen fragmented, multi-persona of internet life, of blogs and forums where life, stories are often told backwards, and also back to the historical which anchors us somewhat to our past and ethnicity - to create an absurd dream-like state.

Your train stories were a riot.

So, while most of Manhattan has power back on, twin #2's building is still not habitable. She is more or less homeless. Couch surfing, getting gouged at over priced hotels, etc. Hoping apt renters insurance will cover some of the expenses. It's been awful. But they know there are people who are worse of than them, so though they are crabby, they are trying not to complain. I am so sick of worrying about them.
Who knew when they found this "amazing" apartment that it would turn out to be a bit of a nightmare. Still no heat, electricity, hot water. One small step in the right direction: the generators are working so there are 2 elevators working.
