A lot of times, honestly, I'll go lay down with her. It gives me a break, and if I haven't fallen asleep, I can get up and do other things. She was playing yesterday outside, and by the time we got to 8 pm, she was alternating from crying about everything to hysterically laughing.
Honestly, it was a tad disturbing. O.o She got a bath when we got home and was put straight to bed.
I don't envy you Esme- I cannot imagine a toddler staying up much past 9 PM, my kid was always in bed by 7, asleep by 8. LOL at 33 she still goes to bed at 9! The grandkids are the same. I always needed that down time to decompress at night after work and dinner ugh, that and I always got up extra early to be able to have quiet time before the whirlwind woke up.
So funny, the kids stayed over Friday night- they were so excited to play with the new kitty. I warned them she would pounce on them and wake them up early if they left their door open. They ignored me and the kitten woke them at 5 AM- my kid said they both took naps Sat afternoon!
My youngest granddaughter tries to keep herself awake too- she's so afraid she will miss something. She still needs her rest so she is allowed to read in her bed but no tablet, no tv, nothing else to distract her. My kid says sometimes her light is still on when she goes to bed and she has to tell her enough- time to close eyes. I wonder sometimes if kids just get over stimulated during the day and need to learn how to shut it off!
Haha, Kathy, I could see Hedda do that. She manages always to find something to talk to. Once her jacket was her baby, when she had nothing else to play with.
Right now the favorite topic of conversation with us when she won’t sleep is which animals have teeth. Do fish have teeth? Do sheep have teeth? Etc
Morning! Rainy Memorial day here. One of our favorite artisan areas to spend time got flooded last night from all the rain. As bad if not worse than 2 years ago when they had to rebuild. All small private owned shops and restaurants. The tv new showed photos of the watercrosring down Main st filled with debris. Just awful
Good morning. Hot and dry, here. Thursday, Friday and Saturday it's supposed to be 100, 103, and 105. Not very appealing. We're going to the new Vet Center for a little ceremony today. Then to a mid-afternoon lunch for M's birthday. He turns 84 today.
Good morning. I was up at 6 but decided to read. Very low-key day here - Alberto is dumping rain on us, so it's an enforced rest day at home. I'm fine with that.
We've gotten nearly 9" of rain today. We stayed home, obviously. I did get some cleaning done, though. It's still coming down, so we may be looking at 9.5 to 10".
I'm getting conflicting rain reports, so I have no idea - one source says 5", another says 9". Were just going to say it got very wet yesterday and leave it at that.
Good morning. We, too, would love to have some of that water. We're so hot that things dry out an hour after you water them. Nice day yesterday. M decided he wanted breakfast, so he got eggs and pancakes. We had planned to go to Sprouts and poke around, because we never get there. It's a long drive from our house. Decided we'd rather have a nap.
