I was pretty lucky when my hubs had his transplant and we were out of town for 4 weeks and basically ate hospital food that the food at Vanderbilt was really good for a hospital.

A dear, sweet friend from Twitter apparently OD'd some time back, and we're just now finding out about it. I am in a bit of shock right now.

Yes, hospitals are exhausting. Glad to be home. Hedda is fighting the meds though. Can’t reason very well with a 3yo.

Yeah, it sucks. We didn't know that was a problem, and now she's gone. My face hurts from crying.

there is no reasoning with 2 and 3 year olds, you just make them do it and they get over it. The longer you try to reason the more stressed they get. I feel your pain Esme, been there done that. I used to try to stuff pills inside something my kid liked- cheese, a banana whatever works- good luck!

Erin I'm so sorry, it's hard to learn that someon took their own life. Must have been a shock.

What med Esme? Soft serve ice cream was my friend when my kid had his adenoids and tonsils out, They said no dairy but it meant he took the meds and his recovery was quick, Better than a screaming 2 1/2 yr old.

Just regular painkillers Kathy. We have the ones that go in the butt, she hates those but they work best. I also have a liquid variant and the type that dissolves on the tongue but yesterday she spit out about half or so. Sigh.

those dissolving ones usually taste nasty, sometimes the liquid does too. Dissolve it in a juice drink she likes- just a small amount?

Bandit says you can hide almost any lousy flavor in ice cream.

Of course, he doesn't chew and even with ice cream we have to do every other bite without the piece of pill. He won't do a whole pill. I swear he swallows around it and then the pill gets spit out LOL

Seriously Esme, there must be lots of tricks to getting a child to take medicine. Look on the internet.

Hedda rarely drinks a lot in one go, and especially not when you want her to. And I don’t want to ruin ice cream for her by hiding things in it. But we’ll solve it somehow.

Had my yearly eye exam and I still have close to 20/20 vision he showed me how I can get even better with glasses. I know my vision isn't what it once was and I'm considering glasses. I also have very dry eyes and he put little dissolveable plugs in my tear ducts to see if that helps. Otherwise my eyes are much younger than my years. That's a good thing.

Got my first 3 star review on a neckwire sent international. Customer said it’s too wide for her neck. I include an insert on fitting it, which I would guess she may never have read. I refunded her 1/2. I don’t even feel that bad about the review. I’m thinking for a customer it might be easier to stretch it some than make it narrower.
