Sounds to me that the Canadian press has fed you a lot of fear mongering. I just hope all your fears are unwarranted. Seriously.

I don't read and watch "the news", (if you are referring to the mainstream media)....all of whom baffled at what just happened right now btw.

No fox news cnn, msnbc, etc..... they are all detached from reality and report sensational fear mongering.

Jen, I have spent at least 50 hours reading both US and Canadian news, from both left and right wing sources and I did everything I could to fact check claims from all sides. I think the world is a complicated place, there is often a lot of grey areas in between the black and white ways politicians present issues, and all those factors make it difficult see the forest for the trees.

I will be very happy if my concerns are proven wrong. And maybe there is some major stuff I am just not seeing as someone who does not live in the US.

What Is done is done and all we can do is see how it all works out. I hope it works out well... I will try to be hopeful and positive as that feels better than being scared and there is nothing I can do...

Spreading unproven fears doesn't help.

Oh Sha! I'm so sorry! That is awful! I'm glad you are okay! I found a flea on Ava a couple of weeks ago. She had been scratching, and I couldn't find any evidence of fleas...I went ahead and dosed all 4 cats with the once-a-month treatment, and I will be doing a 2nd month dose, but that should be it. I haven't seen any more evidence of fleas since I dosed her...and I am hopeful that I prevented a huge outbreak. With carpet, 4 cats and 2 dogs...I'm petrified of them catching fleas!

Erin- I feel bad for you that you lost a friend unwilling to respect your opinions. But then she wasn't really a friend at all if she didn't.

Neither candidate was a stellar example of what people think a political leader of the US should be but I am happy there has been a change in parties and I am hopeful that at least some positive comes from it. 4 years is not much time to make a difference, even undoing current problems takes that long

I agree, Pennee, 4 years is not that long. My feelings are the same on this as well. I wasn't thrilled with either candidate, and very happy that there is a change in parties. It's time. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.

Erin...I ended up having to unfollow a few on Facebook because their posts just became too much...several times a day too much. Hugs for having to deal with losing a friend over this.

I'm waiting on a stone order from the UK and a pattern order. :-) I need a sale! I haven't had one in a couple of weeks and my views have tanked this month. I went through yesterday and worked on titles and tags. I hope adding some new items to the shop will freshen things up a bit.

Thankfully medicare will cover if necessary. I think I just got really deeply bruised because the pain isn't on the surface...it's deeper. I do feel better though so I'm guessing rest and a salt bath have helped. I'll soak in the tub again before bed tonight.

I wish I had found evidence of the fleas sooner...she's been suffering all this time...:( I feel horrible about it...I just hope she will stop scratching and licking. She's always had sensetive skin and I know flea bites can cause FAD...She's been licking so much she's worn the hair off her lips.

I know politics is a no-no here, but you folks are my reality check on the real world. Is it true that Trump doesn't believe in climate change? And how do the checks and balances work if one party controls senate, congress & judicial appointments etc?

The president isn't a dictator. He will have a large panel of advisors, and I believe people can learn, and change.

His comments about it being a hoax was from 2012 and he claims it was a joke. He often speaks off the cuff and unfiltered. people like to interpret what that means to their own benefit. He just doesn't want to deal with globalist environmentalism, but does have concerns about the environment, how extensive those concerns are and what they will entail is yet to be seen.

Even though the senate and house are now all one party dominant, that party pretty much imploded during this election. So, not everyone is on the same page as trump. that being said I predict a lot more will get done, what will get done is yet to be seen.

I remain hopeful.

Well said, Jen. I also remain hopeful. it's definitely true about the Republican party...they were shaken to their core by his winning the nomination.

Hey, does anyone know anything about Blue Apron? I keep getting these ads in the mail for them. It looks like some sort of send you food by mail company?

I just found out today that I do not have to cook Thanksgiving for the entire fam! Yippee! I might actually get some rest over the Thanksgiving holiday this year, and be able to feel like I had actual time off. My Mom is still coming down and I will have to host her, but that's a snap compared to feeding all of DH's family too!
