OK, so for what I am working on today, thought I would use the experience gained on this pendant:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/41208094and use it to make a ring. I am also going to salvage the 'bezel area' from the pendant - that will be some work I do not have to do. It will have 'wood' sides as the base of the bezel, and 'stone work' as the shank.
It will not have a elaborate story like the door, more of a production piece. Probably with a faceted 4x6 emerald cut amethyst.
The nice thing about the recycled bezel area, I know if I make the wax model, make a mold, cast it into metal, this master model will be the perfect size for a calibrated stone. Each new ring - snap the stone in and bend down the sides. Vada-bing, vada-boom.
