My younger son's been complaining about his stomach the last few days, and not eating as much as he normally does. I've been kind of worried, but he's not losing weight or throwing up or anything else, so I'm leaving it be for now. I'm sorry you're not feeling well, Sue - stomach stuff is just about the worst. :(
That stinks Sue- hope it settles down soon. Fell better- everyone.
I think I need to get out of this house- cabin fever is setting in- my own doing but still- maybe a trip to the antique mall this afternoon to see what kind of tools I can find
thx. yeah, I've cut down to about 4 cups a day cg- any more and I start feeling pukey. anyways, it's no big deal, nothing that's leveling me flat or anything. maybe slowing me down some. it'll pass.
Feel better soon, Sue. The copious snow amounts sounds awesome if it doesn't stick around too long. When we lived in the mountains of NC we had a big snow like that and they don't have the snow removal equipment to handle it. Hubs was out there with his dozer clearing neighbors. Love the fresh snow, hate dirty road snow.
Thanks for the support on the stones. The most recent review just threw me. It was one of my favorite stones I've done so I guess I was expecting that 'OMG it's wonderful' review and instead ending up feeling as if I've disappointed a buyer.
Okay, so white chicken chili is happening. My own made-up version of lemon cheesecake bars is happening. Venison is marinading for a bit in the fridge, then that is also happening.
Funny, my stomach is like that a lot lately too. The feeling pukey thing / acid stomach. I figure its stress for me. Been a lot of years since I had an ulcer, but Ive had a few. I don't think what Im experiencing is bad enough to be one. But its annoying and not fun none the less.
erin, bite thyself :P yeah ann- I love that idea! brilliant. oh, that French museum thing fell through. they said it wasn't in their budget now- they weren't figuring on high customs fees. oh well.
oh I know that! I've seen this. stone question- so this guy bought my emerald ring a couple months ago. he's sending it back for a resizing- he didn't know this girlfriend's size at the time. anyways, he mentions to me that it is her engagement ring. now i'm sort of worried about this. will an emerald stand up to daily wear like a wedding ring should? if not, should it tell him that's a bad idea? I have lost many sales to people wanting to use labradorite or moonstone as an engagement ring. I tell them flat out, if you wear a ring like this every day of your life, it won't take long to look like shit. should I be worried about the emerald too?
Sue, heard it a couple of times over the years on CBC radio. Some horrendous war wound that he managed to survive. Then was medically observed for quite a while.
Emerald is complicated because it's a 7 hardness so it doesn't scratch terribly easily, but it's beryl so it has perfect cleavage and chips super easily. Not to mention that emerald is FULL of inclusions and usually oiled so it's pretty fragile.
I'd probably warn them just because I'd feel bad for them if it looked like shit in 6 months. It's not a daily wear stone at all. How are you going to size it? It can't take any heat at all and any flex and it'll shatter.
the sizing is ok ann- I have a guy I contract for that does laser welding for me. 10 bucks to size down, 20 bucks to size up on any ring. he owns a family run jewelry store here in town. my fear is that the emerald is going to look like shit in the not too distant future, and I have some ethical obligation to tell them that. or will it? and do I? yes, I've been at odds with this ever since he told me this. geez, I wish people would not tell me all that stuff. would it help to see the ring/emerald? it is a pretty chunky one, at least I can say it does not look thin and fragile.
Ive had to tell people the same thing Sue. Most don't care when Ive told them... "its not an every day ring, you need to take special care etc"... they want what they want. I do worry that it will haunt me down the road, when the ring finally does look like crap. But I do tell them, if they tell me they are buying as an engagement ring.
