It's going to be another warm one here. I think I'm heading out to the glass studio to play with fire for a bit before it warms up to the point that I can't work anymore. There's a law in my studio....Above 88 and Kim quits. No idea why I picked 88 :-) Who said they're a heat wimp....love that and so applicable here too :-)

susan- i stayed home in the a/c - it was unbearably hot. today it's down to 85ish- bet your day is similar. a cooler front moved through last night.
i've got a ton of errands today and then i'm having my carpets and furniture professionally cleaned this afternoon. we were going to rip all the carpet up in the master bedroom area and replace it with hard wood this spring. instead, i get to pay a $7500 hospital bill. yippee. you know my dh, he won't do anything without the cash in hand. gonna have to wait so the carpet is gonna at least get cleaned in the meantime.
any news on the CP postal strike?

The Canada Post strike may happen on Thursday midnight. Should know by Friday morning if it's 'on strike', or 'still possible', or 'resolved'.

Almost ready to take the truck in to the mechanic, have a nervous feeling it may be the transmission. Hope I'm wrong.

So, I just got an email about a metalsmith's workshop on the topic of glasses, as in eyeglasses. I am mightily tempted.

erga- i have seen some amazing artist made glasses. who's doing the workshop?
i have insurance but i have a 7500 dollar a yr deductible- c alled a high deductible health savings acct. i have to pay the first 7500 no matter what- it really is a catastrophic health care policy. i pay a fairly low monthly premium for it- usually i use WAY less than that cause i don't see a doctor often and am generally OK. my hosp bill was more than that but 7500 is what i have to pay- my insurance then kicks in and will now pay for everything until the end of the yr.

cg- i thought the union and the media would announce the strike before it happened. guess we'll have to wait. hope the truck's not too expensive.

Thank goodness there are 3 paycheques in June with all the repairs and bills coming through. ( I need a new waterheater desperately.)

Well, at least I have 'free' medicare.

Now I have to drive with those same fingers crossed, won't be the end of the world. It did have a new transmission put in 3000 miles before I bought it almost ten years ago. Still, I've only put on about 60K miles. We'll see.

sue, not sure about the teacher. it may be the guy who taught the first metals class i ever took. anyway, it's a summer workshop at the leading israeli design school.

hope the strike doesn't happen. i thought it was only here that such things could happen... oh, they just announced they are starting the school year a week early next year, and we already have a vacation booked. nice, eh?
