I guess I am now on a roll with 4 star ratings- #2 just rolled in- a 6mm wide bangle- she thought it would be heavier- nothing to do about that one I guess.
Kathy, it wasn't that. For some reason they add on all taxes for each shipping label total, but then when it shows on the etsy bill it's broken apart again....shipping cost less the taxes paid are 'shipping charges' and then the taxes paid are called 'other'.
It would save calculating the taxes paid to claim against it at year end, but calling it 'other' makes it impossible to trust it. Might include some other 'other' too.
Matthew, that kitchen looks familiar, both shots. Good looking, practical to work in, and comfortable. Kitchens that are overly spacious are hard to work in.
By expert, I meant you know you can find something if you look around, it's probably there somewhere. I have buyers who know less than I do, imagine that, and will get lost easily, or give up.
Pennee, there are people who will be determined to find anything they get as 'less than'. You know they've never completely enjoyed a restaurant meal, never been completely happy with a pair of shoes.
Matthew I love your moms kitchen, and the whole house that I could see. Beautiful. --------- Which reminds me, I took some photos when I was out there in January, specifically to show you guys. I guess I ought to get around to posting those at some point...
BTW, for anyone wondering: the shot with everyone in the kitchen, that's Mom on the island. Dad's on the far right. My better half is the other one facing the camera. And the backs of the heads are (left couple) friends of mine and Stefanie's, going back about twenty years, and (right couple) friends of the family going back most if not all of my life. I was babysitting their kids when I was a teenager.
Kitchen pictures are wonderful. It's my favorite room in the house.
Ah CG, I wish the tax part was a bit more straightforward too, I wasn't sure exactly what you were referring to. I thought my pottery gram/kg scales were pretty accurate until I got a few xtra charges so I recalibrated them.
Kathy, my stuff is obviously easier to calculate, I'm well within one weight category so I go generously over the actual weight when I enter it.
It's 81F here and I'm melting. Got one wall section lifted up, one of those jobs that's 2 minutes for two people, over half an hour of incremental levering up for one person. One older creaky person.
I am jealous of all the great kitchens. My kitchen is much too small and badly planned. But it is better than the completely unrenovated 70s kitchen I saw when I was hunting for this apartment. I loved the small eating area it had but the rest was not workable. 40 year old formica cabinets in a weird orange and no windows was a no go.
Is that a animal's behind with a hat on it? --------------- That's my dog and my hat. A few years back. Now she's old (14) and tired and hardly ever keeps her tail curled anymore.
Done with hard labour for the day. I can tell the back is just on the verge.
Kitchens aren't a 'thing' with me. I aim for functional and unfussy. Maybe a bit of perky design. I've had great meals come out of improbable and wonky little kitchens.
Jen, I meant to ask, what was your process in finding that thread about the etsy 'other' charges? I seem to get nowhere when I look for stuff like that.
