Yep, it's July already! You all know the rules - don't call out, be friendly, don't worry, be happy.

Re: July Chatty Thread

Happy Canada Day, especially to Kathy, who still has dry feet.

Re: July Chatty Thread

I'm thinking between schools out for summer and graduations, canada day! Independence Day coming up! family vacations and good weather to be outdoors! people are shopping less right now.

I have a customer in UK a bit upset with the Customs charges. Don't know if she will refuse to pick up or not. Will they send it back if she doesn't?

Re: July Chatty Thread

Terri, my 4 star review came from the UK, even though I warned about the VAT tax, I had to wear some of it. Never had any problem until a few months ago, and I put it down to the UK ads running now. It's capturing a new market that aren't dedicated online shoppers, or importers.

Re: July Chatty Thread

Pennee, it may be a bit different in large cities but I think Canada Day pretty much shuts down business.

My year so far is up 30% over last year, happy enough with that.

Re: July Chatty Thread

If you take away the art.... that's conceptually like my planned 9 ft long kitchen work island. Two heavy timbers - about 6" x 9", sitting apart with 12" x 24" slate tile running between them.

I really like that table.

Re: July Chatty Thread

super cool isnt it CG? I love that kind of work. creative, earthy, evocative of nature, yet something else... something new from the artists vision. love it.

Im looking forward to seeing photos of your kitchen when its done.

Re: July Chatty Thread

Won't be anything special, just clean lines, unfussy. No upper cabinets which have always bothered me, in their compromised function and in making a closed in feeling.

Re: July Chatty Thread

Oh - a kitchen without upper cabinets. never thought I would like it, until resently. My dads old house in NJ was on the market again the new owners made a TON of changes to the already amazing custom built kitchen... but one of the things they did was move all the appliances around and remove all the upper cabinets in the kitchen and added a huge window over the new sink location.

i just searched for the photos online and they have been taken down, guess the house is off the market again... sigh. worth seeing if I come across them again Ill share.

Re: July Chatty Thread

expected to be mid-90s here with a dewpoint in the 70s. Wont get any lower than 70s over night. (hate this).

We have all of our ACs cranked. DH just weeded the veggie garden and mowed the lawn before the heat really kicks in.

My first mailing to Italy, sent June 20, an enquiry about where it is.

I try to lower expectations, may need to make a bigger point of it. Translation may not be helping.

Happy July!
Happy Canada Day!

Erin from says
We got to see her Porsche at the NC art museum in January. Cool stuff. :)

Huh...it must have been on loan. Janis' Porsche lives here in Cleveland at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I believe.

Yeah, like I said. Not loving my doctor. She's nice but I just don't think she's all that smart. Says I have a virus.
Sigh. OK. She wants to do a total physical once I feel better. I'd like to find a new doctor for that, I think, but I have been looking and having trouble finding one. I would like a woman.
Wish Sue lived closer.

Re: July Chatty Thread

Morning folks!
I woke up to a request to cancel an order, lame. But June was still good.

I'm going to warn my UK guy about customs before I send him his rings, for the third time.

Happy Canada Day! :D

Glad you're staying dry Kathy.

Re: July Chatty Thread

June was my first month using etsy shipping labels. Is there a simple way of separating the shipping costs from fees/renewals, by the month?

All I can see is an item by item list per shipping label for June. No monthly total.
