I was so sad to read the new about Vegas this morning - the absolute terror and horror those people must have felt. Sometimes it scares me a little to be bringing a child into this weird world we live in.
So sad about Vegas this morning. I listen to the radio station that puts on that festival...so very tragic and sad. So many people hurt and killed. I just don't understand it.
lungs are clear. I mean to keep them that way. doc thinks it will take 10 days to 2 weeks before Im feeling like myself. He told me he could give me a note for my boss... because I should not be at work for a while... alas... Im self employed, so I don't get to go rest and take a sick day.
Vegas situation is horrifying. I would say that anyone who incites this kind of terror is a terrorist. Regardless of what the political labels are, you cause this kind of death toll, and injury toll (over 500 now)... you are in no uncertain terms, a terrorist.
I agree Wendy. A Terrorist is someone who causes mass terror, harm and fear in others seems pretty self-explanatory to me.
Also, I hope you're feeling better soon! I've spent the last 3 weeks with heinous sinusitus that I couldn't/can't take anything for because of pregnancy. I have never wished for drugs so much LOL
I am so saddened by that whole event in Vegas. My niece was there because her son just was drafted by their new NHL team the Vegas Knights. She said it's mayhem and wanted to bundle up her 20 yr old and get him out of there. He's of "legal age" here in Canada to make his own decisions but he has to be 21 in the US. Not sure what I'd do, playing in the NHL has been his dream for years.
Wendy here's to quick healing.
Do you have a nettipot Jaime ? They can be lifesavers with saline when you can't take meds, my epilepsy precludes decongestants and it's a good way to get some sleep if things are bad.
Erin that's good news. I hope he does it, and doesn't abuse this chance. It's so hard for people with that horrible addiction.
Sorry you're getting sick again Wendy. I hope you catch it in time to turn it over fast.
Feel better Esme. Migraines are awful. I have dealt with them for years but finally seem to not get them very often. I sure hope you get through it quickly.
I'd not heard about Tom Petty. I need to see what's going on, then I can;t see anymore in the news. It's heartbreaking.
Yeah. I saw the Tom Petty alert before it was everywhere, I couldn't find a story, but now, I have and its even sadder than I thought. Oh please I can't lose him today, this is just a shitty shitty day.
Did I tell you today started with Koko peeing on the kitchen rug? yeah... its because of Cushings disease and its a symptom Im supposed to look for... well... there it is, and now we are going to have to figure out what to do about it, if anything. Its just a very bad day.
Tom Petty was 66. Seems to young to die and yet my own brother had a quadruple bypass at 58 and I'm younger than Tom and could easily have not made it through mine in March.
I think Terrorism has more to do with motivation than the action taken. To me the motivation of Terrorism is to create a climate of fear. Some acts do that incidentally although it's not the motivation of the person committing the act. This guy obviously planned this out for at least weeks but I'm not sure of his motivation. Did he have a gripe with Country Music fans? Jason Aldean? Or was his motive to create mahem? We may never know. I'm sure people and police will look at the actions that led up to this and see if there is a way to prevent a crazed shooter from setting up to be able to kill multiple people from afar. Do you remember the clock tower sniper?
Still doing paperwork from the last 3 months but I did manage to start some chicken and dumplings for supper.
I'm trying desperately to think of something positive. I'm so sad about Tom Petty's passing. We just played a bunch of his tunes and I realized how much his music permeated my youth. Tons of memories of people and places came flooding back. He was so talented. What a loss!
