Checking in before I pass out for the night. I've had a terrible headache all day, but I'm seriously craving a margarita. So maybe I'll get one before bed. Probably a bad idea.
I have nothing to contribute to the hammer conversation. All of mine are super cheapos. They work though since I don't do any forming and only rustic type hammering.
Re: cameras, I have a Canon 40D and it takes super photos with the cheapest 50mm lens. Probably more than most need though! Purchased it for wildlife photos, even though its been a while since I've done any of that.
Just had a customer send me a message about a pair of earrings she bought. I told her they were pretty heavy before she bought them. She wanted them anyway, but now decided they are too heavy for her. Wants me to male them posts. I don't really want to do that. I think I'll just offer her a return or see if she wants the other pair of earrings she was considering. Or, I have another pair of these stones that were going to become earrings. I could just make this pair posts. I'll have to figure it out tomorrow. She's a great repeat customer, so I might just give her these options.
Chelsea, I agree with CG. Not worth going to the trouble, especially when it probably won't solve the problem.
It's probably better to exchange for something lighter weight, or custom-make something similar but lighter for her. If you don't usually do custom work, it'll really make her feel special and taken care of.
That's what I was thinking y'all. I know she liked some other ones I have that are considerably lighter. I'll see if she just wants to exchange for those and I'll refund the difference.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope to participate more here in the new year. I am going to a party at a neighbour's just 10 minutes up my 4 wheel drive driveway, but I doubt that I will stay until midnight.
December has been a record month for me: same amount of sales as Dec 2013 (130) but triple the revenue.
I'm at my mother-in-law's house, with New Year's Eve programming on the TV. It's a nice change from the constant barrage of sports (not my thing) and Hallmark movies (Oh god make it stop).
In this house, the TV is always on. As soon as someone gets home from somewhere, they turn the TV on. It drives me slightly crazy... I grew up with the TV rarely on. Actually, we kept it in the closet and only got it out when there was something on that we specifically wanted to watch. So for me, TV is a "foreground" thing, not a "background" thing. So whatever I'm doing, it drives me nuts that the TV is there trying to get my attention... and then when I am paying attention to the TV, it drives me nuts that people are having conversations and making it hard to hear.
I was lucky to not have a TV in the house until I was 15. I usually have something with sound on. Inside only. You can only listen to yourself breathe so many hours a day inside. Dead silence is very easy to come by here.
Unless I stay over in town any gathering is out for me. And I have to be here to keep the fire going. Not sorry, it's a good excuse. I was spoiled years ago by the chance to always meet new people, which can be fun. Here, it's the same people and it's only local gossip that means nothing to me.
