Re: December, busy but still chatty

Quick question...what were the saw blades that everyone was raving about recently? I need to order new ones...and I've been disgusted with the Lazer Gold from Rio and I haven't been too happy with Hercules either. Was it Pike or Supra? They were made in Switzerland if I remember correctly.

Great! Thanks Erin! That's what I was thinking...I just couldn't remember. I really hate the last batch of Laser Gold that I received.

Re: December, busy but still chatty

the pin has not changed Debbie- Rio no longer carries the replacement wood pin but GRS has it for under $6- I just ordered one today. The ring holder system changed- it has more flexibility than my old one in the way it moves- it really is better- but I paid like $265 for mine and now they start at close to $400. If I was looking now- I'd be haunting eBay or artists garage on FB for an old one. GRS just had a big sale to get rid of all the old ones this past year

I still have a zillion laser gold- no problems so far- what's the issue everyone is having?

Re: December, busy but still chatty

I know you can get the Super Pike at FDJ. Others might have them too I dunno.

I will certainly do that Pennee. I knew they sky rocketed but couldn't imagine why!

Re: December, busy but still chatty

Pennee...the issue I've had with mine are snapping after just a couple of uses. They just seem really brittle and not holding up. My old ones didn't do that. I took some over to my mentor to test out...thinking that maybe it was me, and he had the same issue.

Thanks Debbie...Gessewein carries them, and I need to order a few other things from them as well...so I'll add it in.

Re: December, busy but still chatty

I must still have older laser gold blades. I haven't had that problem. Nice to know FDJ has the super pike. They are only an hour away but a hellacious drive.

Oh, and I have a bit of gallery dust! Not much but it's something.

Re: December, busy but still chatty

morning! Drip drip drip sound. Yes it's raining but not hard. Last night drip, then again this morning. We can't find anything- it sounds like it's in an outside wall around the chimney. After all it is a holiday weekend so something will need a repair right?

Re: December, busy but still chatty

Same issue for me with the lazergolds. Both shitty flexibility and some even have missing areas of teeth.

Re: December, busy but still chatty

Morning. No dripping here, snuck down to -8F.

Chimney flashing sounds a likely culprit.

Re: December, busy but still chatty

If the mechanical flashing has been fine, possibly an area that has been caulked at some point. Old caulking can open up a tiny crack in summer heat, first rain holds a bit of moisture, then a freeze with a cold chimney could expand the crack enough to open up more.

Might be a simple fix once located.

Re: December, busy but still chatty

simple for the repair guy maybe, not for m or dh. New flashing was put on when we had the roof replaced. Hoping thy will com- but my bet is they are closed until after Jan 1

Hm, no chattiness here?

We are at the parents in law. It’s super icy outside. I’m glad I brought my thingies for under my shoes. I always forget what they are called.

Snow cleats?

The boys had their annual board break-fest and Christmas party at tae kwon today. I just got done processing the coconut for the coconut cake, so I'm taking a break. Hubs took the boys out for their annual last-minute-Christmas-shopping trip.

I put chili in the slow cooker this morning. I think that was a marvelous idea. :D
